Right to Life endorses Luetkemeyer, not Onder

Former state Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer, R-St. Elizabeth, apparently is the only Republican in the 9th District congressional race to snag the endorsement of Missouri Right to Life, which Luetkemeyer’s campaign says raising questions about the validity of  the anti-abortion credentials of one of his rivals, state Rep. Bob Onder, R-Lake St. Louis.

Onder has been getting a lot of attention over his string of public debates over abortion with one of the Democratic contenders, former state Sen. Ken Jacob of Columbia.

“Luetkemeyer has fought against abortionists for many years including during his time as a lawmaker when he twice stood up to Democrat governors by supporting legislation banning the barbaric practice of partial-birth abortion, first as a member of the minority party and later a leader among majority Republicans,” his campaign said.

“The endorsement from Missouri Right to Life clearly shows that actions and experience speak louder than words when it comes to representing conservative values in the 9th Congressional District.”

Said Luetkemeyer in a statement:

“The endorsement of Missouri Right to Life proves that results and not political rhetoric are what will make the difference for me when the people of the 9th District go to the polls in August and November.”

We’ll post Onder’s reply if we get it.
