Steelman’s outsider status plays in two ads — hers and Hulshof’s

With primary Election Day less than a week away, it’s hard to keep up with the furious pace of television advertising from rivals Sarah Steelman and Kenny Hulshof.

But, there is no shortage of material as both campaigns simply play off each other.

First, there is this spot from Steelman, in which she boasts “politicians never endorse me. I’m not one of them. I’m one of you.”

Hulshof, though, challenges Steelman’s outsider credentials, tying her to developers and trial attorneys in his new ad. This commercial actually references an earlier Steelman ad that, of course, focused on a Hulshof video clip.

Who said there are no original thoughts?

There is, though, at least one group that should be happy Steelman and Hulshof have each other — the media buyers who are making a bundle off the back and forth.
