Union activists plant rally against Wal-Mart
Union workers and some political officials have planned an anti-Wal-Mart rally for 6 p.m. this evening at the United Food and Commercial Workers Local 655 in Ballwin.
The union workers are attacking Wal-Mart for selling Chinese goods as opposed to American. Though the stores also stock American products, the union says that buying American-only would help producers here.
The rally is also backed by WakeUpWalMart.com, a campaign affiliated with the national UFCW.

- Jake Zimmerman, State Representative (D-83rd Dist.)

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnnnnnn!
quite an impressive list of politicians
You mean closet Wal Mart shoppers.
Nope, we just don’t think the No. 1 corporate contributor to the GOP should buy from China where the labor is forced from prisoners which may be in jail soley because they are Christians. Oh, and let’s not forget some of those imprisoned have their organ forcibly removed for transplant to China’s leaders and friends.
It is also contrary to human rights to have Wal*Mart ber the direct importer of 10% of US imports from China, where the government which runs most of the enterprises there has murdered 1.5 million native Tibetans and replaced them with ethnic Chinese.
Koster took money from Walmart through teh Economic Growth Council.
A bunch of labor doofuses with nothing better to do than attack Walmart. Listen up, guys, if you want to hurt Walmart, it’s very simple: Compete with them. As of this moment, Walmart shoppers have saved almost $156 billion dollars this year by shopping there instead of at your overpriced union stores. For an updated figure, scroll to the bottom of the homepage at walmart.com.
Complain all you want - where do you think all those unemployed Chrysler workers will be shopping now? Even Tim Hogan shops at Walmart. You guys suck your employer dry, alienate your customers, and then wonder why private sector union membership in America is in the toilet.
how can the lunatic and kastoff complain about a rally against cheap Chinese imports?
sounds unpatriotic to me…
Nick, would you prefer American workers earned the same of those in China? Do you have no shame?
Because we are smart enough to realize that the goal of the unions is to not decrease the amount of Chinese goods sold at WMT. The ultimate goal is to unionize the largest employer in the world which would increase union dues exponentially. If WMT unionizes tomorrow, they would STILL be the largest importer of foreign goods and you wouldn’t hear a single peep out of a union cuz they’d be too busy counting mo money, mo money, mo money.
