Young Dems, Republicans come together for “Swing Vote”
Seeking a cinematic respite from the heat of the campaign season, local Young Republicans and Democrats will visit the movies together tomorrow for a screening of the new film “Swing Vote.”
The political comedy stars Kevin Costner as an affable slacker dad whose daughter, without him knowing it, registers him to vote. (Election fraud, anyone?)
His choice for president, though, is discarded by — listen up, conspiracy theorists — a glitch in a computer voting machine. Of course, the election winds up in a tie, and both candidates relentlessly chase Costner’s character for his decisive vote.
Hilarity, I’m sure, ensues.
The screening is at Ronnie’s 20, on Lindbergh in south St. Louis County.
Young Republicans looking for tickets can e-mail the group’s president, James Knowles III. Democrats can also send an e-mail, or stop by the group’s meeting this evening, 6:30 p.m. at Laclede Street Grill.

Could Obama be the next Mitt Romney?

Nah, however, it might be more interesting if the studios/television stations re-released “The Manchurian Candidate” — do you think people might associate it with Senator McCain?
Figures, the GOP kid has an ultra WASP name and number, and the Democrats are meeting in a bar!
Could BushMcCain be the next Bush 41? Send BushMcCain back to the golf carts, vote Democratic in ‘08!
The life you save may be your own!
Knowles… yeah, that’s a very WASPy name. Just ask Beyonce (KNOWLES)… Idiot
Only some moron lib would consider having a “WASPy” name as an insult and the fact the Democrats have their meeting in a bar as a compliment.
How smart is it for the president of the Young Republlican tobe blogging…….but going insult for insult with another blogger is even more astounding. I would have expect more from a president of either organization.
I’m pretty sure that wasn’t him, Mr. Independent Moderate (which I highly doubt you are either).
