Blunt, Bond offer thoughts on Palin as No. 2

What’s that you say? More local reac on Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s selection as Republican John McCain’s running mate?

Gov. Matt Blunt and Sen. Kit Bond, both of the GOP, of course, gladly oblige with statements.

First, Blunt’s take:

Gov. Palin is a sharp, aggressive person. She has been a tough executive for her state and she is an outstanding choice for Vice President.

I first had the opportunity to meet Sarah Palin in her campaign office in Anchorage when she was running for governor. I was impressed with her at that time and I have been very impressed with her term as governor.

As a fellow governor I understand the experience she will bring to Washington having managed a large budget, lead the state’s National Guard and made tough executive decisions for her state including cutting spending.

Washington is broken and I think it is important that Senator McCain has selected someone from outside Washington as his running mate to help him change Washington.

Now, Bond:

Sarah Palin is a bipartisan reformer who brings the executive experience and values voters in Missouri and across the nation are looking for.

Not only as a Governor, but as a mother of five children, Palin understands what American families want economic security, health care security, energy security from the foreign oil cartels, and security from threats at home and abroad.

What ? ! ?
A Republican governor affirms that “Washington is broken….”?
After eight years and it ain’t fixed - yet?
Guess he’ll not be serving in any position in any possible future Republican administration, huh?
Goodness - and he even mentioned the “ch-ch-change” word! What will he think of next? Switching like Sen. Koster?
I thought it was that Obama radical who fostered “change;” ain’t that what he’s being excoriated for?

So, Guv - how was the fishin’ up Juneau way? Can’t imagine ANY possible socio/economic/politic connections between AK and MO.

I see a lot of similarity between AK and IL! This state is full of corruption and graft and in0fighting. I wish she was my governor. Maybe we’d actually get some things accomplished around here.

Senator Bond and Boy Gov Blunt both must be missing their sense of irony or shame given that Gov. Palin made her mark in Alaska fighting the very type of special interest favoritism and greed both gentlemen have practiced most of their political life.

Although, there is more to be heard about her interference on behalf of her sister is the custody battle.

This was about the worst judgment any leader could have and, the decision is selfish on the parts of all involved.

McCain is an extremely risky candidates for this country and the two of them together is an even more risky and beyond that, totally lacking of common sense.

It’s here we go again just like with our current President George Bush, when Evangelicals are happy, you can bet that we are in trouble and they are in bliss with Vice President choice of Palin. Their good intentions are disastrous and dangerous. These Evangelicals are blind to their error way of thinking, especially in spiritual matters.

McCain is mainly attempting to appease this group of Evangelical Christians but at the same time recruit women who supported Hillary and are disgruntled by Obama being the Democratic nominee which is foolish and poor judgment to think was worthwhile. McCain and the Republican regime is attempting to kill one bird with two stones with no thought about what is best for this country or Palin’s family. They have absolutely no thought for the best interests and good for her newborn “Down Syndrome Baby”. How can people who claim to be so religious and so into family values be so conflicted? There is only one reason why and it is because these people are a bunch of hypocrites following after their own warped desires and mind, not God’s. They will stoop to ANY means to attempt to accomplish their goals. Have these people learned nothing from Bush and his administration, how about history, how about religious people of our past? Do they follow what they teach of christ words, NO, they are just like the Pharisees.

I heard an Evangelical leader of a Baptist sect say today that Palin was great Evangelical Christian. If the claims that she is being investigated for are true, then these blind Evangelicals need to open their eyes and see the contradiction in what she hold her self out to be and what she really is. But, how do these religious leaders or anyone know anything without the investigation being complete? I can tell you right now no matter what the outcome of the investigation, it doesn’t matter with these Pharisee type Evangelicals because most of them too are conflicted and are in error.

Palin being the mother of a newborn “Downs Syndrome” baby and aspiring to further her career before being with her special needs baby paints the true picture of her character, enought red flags there along. She is a conflicted individual just as most of these Evangelicals.

Then we have McCain with his bouts of cancer and age going against him. This is just plain risky and crazy, these two people running as our leaders.

Old Age, Sickness (Cancer), “Mother with a Newborn Down’s Syndrome Baby”…

What a complete mess to have as leaders of the United States, they are bringing with them great stress into the job in the way of their personal lives outside of the stress that the job alone brings being President and Vice President of the United States.

You guys remind me of when Pilate asked the crowd, “Which one of these two do you want me to set free for you, Barabbas! They answered. They chose a crazy murderer over Jesus because of their dark wrong hearts. This is what you people remind me of, those like that in that crowd

RHarnack– and you’re STILL talking about American politics?

Shouldn’t you first be apologizing to the Cambodians you helped lead to the killing fields…

BobZ,

You do understand that we live in a very evil world and this is one of the many evils. Genocide.

Being the brilliant man that you are because I know none of us can figure out what the genocide of the Cambodians have to do with the statment made by RHarnack, most brains don’t function at the same superior level of yours so explain to us stupid people what on God’s green earth you are talking about.

How are you imaging in that superior mind of yours that RHarnack somehow is guilty of this genocde? And how does it have any relationship to Palin?

Mr. Walker -
I believe Mr. BobZ’s quoted remark about Mr. RHarnack’s alleged direct involvement with the Cambodian Genocide is at LEAST the second time he has made such a seemingly non sequitur statement…
I’ve wondered, too. I even ‘Googled’ Mr. Harnack’s name and came up with nada. Other than revisiting the horror that was Cambodia at the time, I saw nothing on the listed site that mentioned Mr. Hanack; of course, I may have missed it…
Perhaps Mr. BobZ will elucidate?
