Candidates Frank, Cunningham make pitch during Cards game
Anybody who tuned in to watch the Cardinals last night on ESPN saw the trappings of hard-fought and taunt contest, with lots of momentum swings and nail-biting down the stretch.
Oh yeah — there was also a baseball game.
Guessing, perhaps, that St. Louisans in August are more likely to be watching a Redbirds game than just about anything else, primary candidates clogged the time between innings Sunday night with a last-minute blitz of advertising.
Among those local contenders taking air time was State Senate hopeful Jane Cunningham of Chesterfield, who ran this ad:
Also on the small screen last night was State House candidate Terry Frank, who is seeking Sam Page’s current seat in Creve Couer. Frank’s spot takes a subtle dig at his opponent in the Republican primary, former Monsanto lobbyist Frank Plescia.

I hear Cunningham will win tomorrow. She has been a great Rep and will be a strong Senator.
You hear that?
Where exactly does one hear about election results BEFORE the election?
You might want to rephrase that–you make it sound like the fix is in.
The good news is, when Tammy Faye loses, she won’t even be a state rep anymore. Have a nice life, Jane!
PS - If Tammy Faye is an effective pro-life leader like her commercial says, why did Missouri Right to Life give an exclusive endorsement to Gina Loudon? Perhaps it’s because Jane is great at tooting her horn and lousy at getting things done.
The 82nd Republicans are lucky to have such a strong candidate in Terry Frank. He knows how to lead and win the tough fight. I know because I worked with Terry Frank for 4 years as a fellow Alderman in Frontenac.
Nick, maybe one day you’ll move out of your mom’s basement and get a life
Jane Cunningham has been a disgrace to the General Assembly. As a Christian, it is my sincere hope that this election will mark the end of her political career. Good riddance!
> Nick, maybe one day you’ll move out of your mom’s basement and get a life
News flash, wolf1 - I haven’t lived in my parent’s house in decades, and I own more homes today than you’ll own in your entire life. So who needs to get a life?
Are those homes virtual Nick? Also who says “News Flash” anymore?! That proves that you haven’t seen the light of day in ages
This Terry Frank creep is really audacious. …
Frank Plescia is also running for the 82nd—Creve Coeur, don’t give this …Terry the time of day.
