College Dems predict big turnout, challenge older adults to listen

DENVER — After the more adult festivities started to close down, I headed out to a lounge party for the College Democrats of America. The student group is holding its national conference in conjunction with the DNC.

I spoke with a number of young people who again and again emphasized their hope and potential role in this election. We’ll have a podcast of a roundtable interview up probably tomorrow.

In the meantime, I’ll give you this short video shot at the lounge with three young ladies from Saint Louis University, all of them college dems, who were staying in dorms at the University of Denver.

They gave passionate defenses of the youth vote off camera and essentially offered to take bets with anyone who believes the youth won’t turn out this year.

It’s a little dark, but the audio comes across just fine.

Also keep coming back to STLtoday.com/conventions for the podcast with several youth vote advocate/experts and other college students.

Why should we listen to them when they never show up to vote? Wake me up if they win their so-called bet in November. Yawn.
