Dems, GOP already working to heal primary wounds
Even before the results are in, party leaders have already begun to focus on restoring party unity after bitter primary contests on both sides.
The Democrats will let the winners sleep off their election night haze, but want them assembled Thursday morning at a “United for Change” rally in front of the Harry Truman statue in Independence.
Republicans tapped Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder – facing only marginal opposition in today’s primary — to narrate a maudlin, er, sincere video praising “the family that is” the Republican party.

Democrats will heal a lot faster if we don’t have to swallow Chris Koster as our candidate for attorney general. If Koster wins, I know I won’t be the only Democrat to proudly cast my vote for Michael Gibbons.
