DNC kick-off party: Let the games begin
DENVER — Tonight was the kick-off night for the Democratic National Convention. With most of the delegates now here in Denver, the DNC put on a show featuring a live music and a rallying cry by Howard Dean.The entire night was also themed to honor Hurricane Katrina Relief organizations, but the political overtones were far from subtle. Dean himself went after the GOP hard because of such episodes as President Bush’s decision not to immediately visit the devastated areas of New Orleans, instead flying over the area in Air Force One.
On a lighter note, the food served up to delegates and media was all well-concocted with a New Orleans theme.
