DENVER — Among those Hillary Clinton supporters from Missouri who were all smiles after her passionate speech tonight was former Gov. Bob Holden, one of her delegates.Bob Holden

“I thought she hit a homerun,” Holden said. “Really set this convention on fire.”

Even early Obama backers like Missouri State Rep. Jake Zimmerman — who was Holden’s deputy chief legal counsel — were impressed with Clinton’s delivery.

“I thought she was phenomenal,” Zimmerman, from Olivette, said. “Her tone was pitch perfect.”

B. Holden is as tin eared a politician as Missouri has known in my two decades here. He was a nobody when he was governor, and he’s REALLY a nobody now. I hate to say this, but “Scott_Simon” is right.

In more important news, yesterday’s Gallup tracking poll had McCain and Obama tied, today’s has McCain up 2 points. Too early to be surging, and too early to really matter, but losing ground during your own convention is a bad omen. Another poll I saw yesterday, 48% of voters believe their taxes will go up if Obama is elected. The drip drip you hear is Obama supporters falling away as they figure out what life would really be like under an Obama-Reid-Pelosi regime.

Yo, Blog Snobs:

It’s a freakin blog. Not the newspaper. This blog is intended for people who follow politics to learn tidbits, not to break news.

Jo & rest of bloggers who have to deal with these and other “slow news day” type comments:

Thanks.
