Kinder joins the “drill here, drill now” crowd
Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder, a Republican seeking re-election, plans to be on the road Friday for the “Drill here, Drill now, Pay less” tour.
Kinder said his trip to four communities is “part of his continuing commitment to improve the quality of life for Missourians…”
He plans to “sign a national pledge and urge the state’s Congressional Delegation to tap domestic energy sources in order to reduce gas prices at the pump.”
Luckily for his campaign’s bank account, Kinder’s road trip comes as gas prices appear to be down by about 50 cents a gallon over the $4-plus high of a couple weeks ago.
Here’s his schedule:
COLUMBIA, Mutrux Tiger Sinclair, 9:30 AM, 1300 Fellows Pl
ST. JOSEPH, Love’s Truck Stop – south side of station, 11:15 AM, 4601 S. Leonard Rd
KIRKSVILLE, Pickadilly Station, 12:50 PM, 2214 N. Baltimore St.
HANNIBAL, Pickadilly Station, 2:25 PM, 3906 McMasters Avenue

Not surprised that Kinder is just now getting around to jumping on the Republican bandwagon on this issue. He has always struck me as a follower and not much of a leader.
