McCain rally

O’FALLON — John McCain presented his new vice-presidential running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, to thousands of cheering Missouri supporters at a sun-drenched Sunday afternoon rally at the home of St. Charles County’s minor league baseball team.

“I have found the right partner,” the Arizona senator said at T.R. Hughes Ballpark. “She’s exactly who I need. She’s exactly what the country needs to fight the same old Washington politics.

Many in the crowd, which the campaign estimated at 23,000, seemed to agree, breaking out at one point in a chant of “Sar-uh, Sar-uh.”

McCain recounted Palin’s election as governor in 2006 and how she took on a “corrupt” political culture in her home state that had become a national disgrace. He also pointed out that Palin had vetoed “one big pork-barrel bill after another.”

“If you’re sick and tired of the way Washington operates, you need to be patient,” McCain said. “Change is coming, change is coming, change is coming.”

Palin also spoke about her record and said she had fought special interests, lobbyists, oil companies and “the good-old boy network.”

She also said she had opposed the often-criticized “bridge to nowhere” that an Alaskan in Congress had pushed for in an appropriations bill.Ron Bauwens, 58, a retired teacher from Weldon Spring, said he was impressed with McCain’s new running mate.

“The biggest thing I got out of that was Sarah. I think she can really pull it in for him.”"She’s going to be a bulldog.”

Some Democrats have attacked Palin’s experience. But Kathy Pfeffer, 56, of Fenton, said was impressed with her record of ethics reform and reducing government spending.

“She’s proven she can do it just as good as a man, if not better,” she said.

stlpatriot,

Have you ever been involved in a domestic situation, people you thought of as saints will lie like drunken sailors. It would be smart to not get rapped up in these matters of he said, she said domestic issues without the absolute proof of claims.

lil’patriot boy: Liberal web site? Get the facts before you pee yourself again.

Joshua Micah Marshall (born February 15, 1969 in St. Louis, Missouri) is a Polk Award-winning[1] journalist[2] who founded Talking Points Memo,[1] which The New York Times Magazine called “one of the most popular and most respected sites” in the blogosphere.[3] He currently presides over a network of sites that operate under the TPM Media banner and average 400,000 page views every weekday[4] and 750,000 unique visitors every month.[5][6] Marshall and his work have been profiled by The New York Times,[5] the Los Angeles Times,[7] the Financial Times,[8] National Public Radio,[9] The New York Times Magazine,[10] the Columbia Journalism Review,[4] Bill Moyers Journal,[11] and GQ.[12][13] Hendrik Hertzberg, a senior editor at The New Yorker, compares Marshall to the influential founders of Time magazine. “Marshall is in the line of the great light-bulb-over-the-head editors. He’s like Briton Hadden or Henry Luce. He’s created something new.”[4]

Can’t Hide The Truth,
You Can’t Hide the Facts either. I believe I questioned Obama’s substance, not “Dems” as you suggest.

Richard, if you leaned any farther left by relying on the liberal-biased media you mentioned, you would fall off your barstool at The Royale.

Teresa,
Whether you believe in creationism or a big bang? I would argue that it takes greater suspensions of thought, to think that the universe happened by chance. Seeing as it’s statistically impossible. I would rather, admit that my humility and concede that there must be a designer behind this fantastic universe.

But either way, both are opinions. Until the idea of a creator has been scientifically disproved (which hasn’t happened yet) we must continue the debate. Trying stop debate hasn’t worked in any Communist country, so why should we try? Stop acting like your beliefs are the only ones that matter. Using the scientific model, you must disprove before you can claim anything as fact.

But keep looking for the truth it’s out there :)

Wow this is getting juicer by the minute!!! First off johnh, you say so what to Bush being addicted too alcohol???????? WHILE IN OFFICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARE YOU NUTS???????????!!!!!!!! AND THAT’S OK?????????? You must stay deep, deep, I MEAN DEEEEEEEEEEEEP OFF IN THE BOOTHILL OF MISSOURI!!!!!!!! A TRUE HICK. That’s about the most idiotic statement I think I’ve heard all political season!!!!!!!!!! By the way, at last check an affair while in office didn’t necessarily mean you were running the country poorly. And I do believe she was of legal age (what do you mean young girls????) And if Obama, or Clinton used drugs, they a)admitted it and b) they probably HAVE NOT done this while holding any office. I totally agree, with Richard, she abused power for personal reasons….we’ve seen 8 yrs. of this all ready (our prices at the pump for Bush’s pockets!!!!!!!!!) And by the way Biden and Obama have made choices on a bigger stage than Mrs. Palin (She’s and executive???? vs. a senator of 4 yrs. and another of 30+ years what a joke XD XD XD)

I am so sick of hearing about Hillary. So soon we all forget the Whitewater ordeal and the fact that the only political experience she had was the fact that her husband managed to land the Presidency (of which he made a mockery). Then she moves to New York to become a Senator only a few short years ago. Why didn’t she run in the state she was from? Give me a break.
Sarah has at least been Mayor and then Governor of the state she actually resides in. I think she will bring fresh ideas and can help bring this country back in order. McCain and Palin have my vote.

Having served in two different wars, I have a sense of when people are scared. After watching the talking heads and reading these comments, I think the Dems just got out flanked with the GOV Palin choice. Brilliant tactical move, but I am curious if the GOP can win or sustain an uphill PR battle with the not so friendly press.

johnh,

Was that the best you could do in giving me your attention and ripping me apart? Want to try once more?

By the way, aren’t you a “Pro-Lifer” like the beauty queen that you are so smitten with like a little puppy dog? Hpocrite wishing I was aborted?

As far as Obama goes, you are a LIAR johnh, Take it back! You hear me? Oabma was never a addict, I can prove it. Want me to prove it? I suggest you take it back or I will prove you are a LIAR!

Hey, johnh, do I sound like I need to be committed to the funny farm like you now?

That was mimicking you, do I sound crazy like you now. (lol)

Your exact words below:

< Clark, Palin is not a liar. YOU ARE, or you are ignorant. Is that clear? < Want me to prove that? I will. I suggest you say, “No”. or I WILL prove < you are either ignorant or a liar.

Whew, and I’m nuts.

Mark, what is your point. Can’t you people ever site one fact. Is Josh Marshall’s site correct in they’re reporting or not. Name calling like some 4th grader is just stupid on your part. I swear the longer people listen to that stupid fat junkie from Cape the dumber they get.

Oh my. I love it when it gets down and dirty. Funny stuff comes up. In Hindsight, Ted Stevens should have earmarked the monies for the island bridge for Chappequdick, and named the bridge, “The Edward Kenndy bridgg. It would have been a fitting tribute to that Democrat.

Who cares what Mary Jo Kopechne’s parents would have thought about that idea. What do you think, D. Walrker? Anyone else can chime in as well.

I’m going to bed now, since the government has put a curfew on liberals and tucked them in bed already.

Byeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
