Mo. GOP pounces on Obama’s city mix-up, delegation seating

Barack Obama’s geographical mix-up last night — St. Louis or Kansas City? — may have been enough on its own for the Missouri GOP to snipe at the fanfare in Denver.

But that Democrats also placed the Missouri Delegation way in the back of the Pepsi Center has given Republicans here even more fodder.

Missouri GOP spokeswoman Tina Hervey compared it to the Democrats’ 2004 decision to withdraw campaign forces here and send them to Colorado — ceding the state to George W. Bush. (As Jo Mannies mentioned yesterday, it didn’t help much — John Kerry lost Colorado, too.)

“Based on the Missouri Democrat Delegation being seated in the nose-bleed section at the Democrat National Convention it does not appear as if anything has changed — Missouri is not a priority for Democrats,” Hervey said. “Obama’s elitist attitude toward Middle America and his disregard for Missouri was reinforced when he decided to use a Missouri family as a prop during his wife’s convention speech only to forget where he was.  First he was in Kansas City, then St. Louis, then back to Kansas City.”

How do you like that? McCain doesn’t know how many houses he owns, and Obama doesn’t know where he is.

Barack’s going to see the Kansas City Cardinals vs. Texas tonight at Kaufmann Stadium.

Have they confirmed if he was in K.C. Missouri or K.C. Kansas ??

mccain does not know america’s enemies and mixes them up yet he says he knows how to win the war. if he really does why are we staill in iraq. mccain lost count of how mant homes he has or is that how many homes his wife has and claims the economic woes is all in our heads. mccain does not know czechoslovakia was not in existence anymore yet he claims a handle on foreign affairs. barack makes a geographical error anyone could honestly make after traveling back and forth and the republicans pounce. the gop must know by now that the american people can see through all their nonsense. we will not be bamboozled. not this time. we are awake and we will vote a big fat no to any republican in this election cycle. yes we will.

Gee, I guess the Republicans, in addition to their “swift boating” (and let’s change this back to its’ original name “smear campaign” so that those who actually served on “Swift Boats” in VietNam are not associated with sleaze-balls like Karl Rove), they are also starting a campaign of aggressive nit-picking.

Senator John “I was a POW -don’t ask me any tough questions” McCain will be lucky to know the name of the continent he is on.

RHarnack — you’re still talking politics? First go apologize to all those Vietnamese you left behind.

Bobzzzzz -
1. Lest you confuse yourself even more: I was and still am a conscientious objector and advocate of non-violence. I did not serve in VietNam and I would not think to lay claim to such (unlike some wannabes). I had dear friends who did serve, most were drafted, some by choice. Most were fortunate in that they came back.

2. I have two sons-in-law who are now active duty and both have served more than their share in both Bush Wars. My prayer is always that my grand-children’s fathers come home alive, whole and well.

3. I find it disgusting when I hear terms like “Swift Boating” being used. There were many young men who served on those who were scared silly. I do not know what “point” you thought you were making, but as it plays it is disgraceful to those who did serve.

Sorry, I do not think those who choose to serve deserve the type of disrespect your post shows.

I guess they forget to give Obama a teleprompter. I hate those tough questions. Maybe he was confusing the geophysical location with the divine location. He was physically in Kansas City, buy spiritually wanted to be in St. Louis. Got it?

I’m sure glad that democrats can concentrate on unity and organizing now that all the Republicans are taking care of all the Right-eous indignation chores. They keep hoping that they can push buttons and create animosity where there is none.. Or rather none left because it ir rightly directed at the party who has destroyed this country every way they can think of.

Smells like desperation, and its beautiful to see.
