Osmonds: Apparently a little bit Republican, too
The region’s Republican Central Committees have announced that they are jointly holding a picnic in September that will feature the Osmond Brothers.
The Osmonds will headline the gathering on Sunday, September 21 from 2 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Jefferson Barracks Veteran’s Memorial Amphitheater in south St. Louis County.
According to the announcement, picnickers also will be entertained by the local country group Pearl Heart, which made the finals of this year’s NBC hit show “Nashville Star.”
U.S. Rep. Kenny Hulshof, the state GOP’s nominee for governor, and the rest of the party’s statewide ticket has been invited.
So is the party’s presumptive nominee for president, Sen. John McCain, although the announcement doesn’t indicate that he has RSVPed.
St. Louis County Councilman John Campisi is to serve as the picnic’s Master of Ceremonies.
Says the announcement: “The picnic features free admission, parking and entertainment with food, beverages, arcade games and GOP merchandise available. The event will end with a fireworks display from Twilight Fire and Illusions.
“While admission is free, pre-registration is required. To register, people can call 636-947-4911 or go online at www.stlcountygop.org.”

I always love the “celebrities” that come out for Republican events…folks like Toby Keith and a host of other “God Fearin’, gun-lovin’, gay-hating, narrow-minded dolts who are usually the worst of what America has to offer.
Dems get Bruce Springsteen/Bono/Sheryl Crow….people who actually have talent and can articulate ideas with butchering the King’s English and looking like hill-billy a**-holes when they speak.
The Osmonds and a local country group who lost on a talent show–WOW–Go Kenny Hulshof (insert slide flute sound effect here)
Well, the Osmond Brothers are happy, well-adjusted people; great family men; have been successful for virtually fifty years; have been mocked for their clean-cut image by people who haven’t led very clean-cut lives; have - to their great credit - ‘turned the other cheek’ while enduring these verbal attacks, and have been a sterling example that you can last in the compromising world of show business without sacrificing your moral standards and character…
…why WOULDN’T they be Republicans?
Are you sure that slinging insults is the best way to show the superiority of your political stance? Perhaps an even handed approach to political discourse would contain more than just insults about the talent level of the entertainment.
It may surprise the first poster to learn that Toby Keith is a lifelong Democrat who apparently supports Obama.

Fact-checking: always important before ranting!
Ha! Hey, u have been served, looks like you have been pwnd!
“u have been intolerant” - It sure is funny to hear narrow-minded hate speech from somebody accusing others of being narrow-minded and hateful. If you want to know why political discourse in America lacks respect and substance, go look in the mirror.
Phooey, I like the Osmonds.. but I’m not a supporter of McCain.
I’ll be glad when election season is over and I can keep my entertainment and my politics separate.
Yes, Sheryl Crowe is certainly one of my favorite - hypocrites! She adopts a baby boy (good for her!) even though she is pro-abortion. Thankfully for her, a woman chose “life” rather than “death” for her fetus. You’d think Ms. Crowe as a single mom would have changed her tune.
Maybe they will sing us the answer as to what happened to all the missing white house emails and why McCain accepting 250 million from Karl Rove is not a problem. Chirp it for us mormons…REAL LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are waiting…
“gun-lovin’,narrow-minded dolts .” — u have been served
