Outside the party, protesters get their shots in now
DENVER — As hundreds of media left the pre-DNC party at Elitch Gardens, a small number of protesters took the opportunity to shout their message.
Led by anti-abortion activist Randall Terry, they denounced Sen. Barack Obama for his positions favoring abortion rights. Terry explained they were taking the opportunity now for two reasons: the crush of media who weren’t rushing to the next assignment and the fact that protesters once the DNC starts will be required to mostly stick to approved protest areas.
Terry said he and his supporters also plan to get arrested Tuesday while conducting a sit-in “near the Pepsi Center,” the site of the convention hall. However, he was short on details.
And while he denounced Obama, he admitted that he doesn’t particularly like Sen. John McCain who has supported some abortion rights in the past (though McCain also now says that life begins at conception).
Here’s some video. Warning: the audio is loud.

My grandfather ran the Democratic Party in St. Louis and was the chairman of the Democratic National Committee, but neither he nor I could ever support a political leader who favors legal abortion.
