Republicans gave away tire pressure gauges this afternoon

At first Republicans gave away tire pressure gauges to mock Sen. Barack Obama, the presumptive Democratic nominee. By Tuesday Sen. John McCain, the Republican presumptive nominee, acknowledged that keeping vehicle tires properly inflated was a good idea.

St. Louis area residents had their chance on Thursday to participate in the Republican tire gauge giveaway. The party handed out free gauges at 921 Fee Fee Road, Maryland Heights, the Republican Natiional Committee’s local campaign office.

Republicans have been handing out the gauges to ridicule Obama who said last week that if every vehicle had fully-inflated tires, the nation would save much oil as the county would get by drilling for oil offshore. The Republicans called the gauge the Obama energy plan.

What ignorance! This is what this half of American represents, plain stupidity.

If these ones and even many of those on the Democratic side keep up this mind-set, this country will continue down the path even faster to hell in a hand-basket.

“This is what this half of American represents, plain stupidity. ”

I agree, how could anyone think properly inflated tires will replace all the oil to be gained from drilling off shore and ANWR? Silly democrats.

Si U Facem Fora Dolla: “how could anyone think properly inflated tires will replace all the oil to be gained from drilling off shore and ANWR?”

1)Obama said inflating tires AND tuning your car.

2)Obama suggested it could do as much as drilling offshore BUT DIDN’T INCLUDE ANWR.

3) DOE and AAA believe 7-10 MILLION BARRELS OF OIL WOULD BE SAVED PER DAY IF OBAMA’S SUGGESTIONS CAME TO FRUITION. (So does NASCAR, Charlie Crist(R), Arnold Schwarzenegger(R), and Joe Lieberman(I))

What were John “Low Road Express” McCain’s estimates for increased oil production with his DRILL DRILL DRILL strategy?

HINT: Less than 7-10 million barrels per day.

“1)Obama said inflating tires AND tuning your car.”

Can you tune your car? I cant, it is all computer controlled. Average cost for a “mechanic” to hook it up and look at it, $95 an hour. Fix not included.

“2)Obama suggested it could do as much as drilling offshore BUT DIDN’T INCLUDE ANWR.”

Ok, my bad.

“3) DOE and AAA believe 7-10 MILLION BARRELS OF OIL WOULD BE SAVED PER DAY IF OBAMA’S SUGGESTIONS CAME TO FRUITION.”

There equations dont make a damn bit of since. For them to work, 100% of the cars on the road would need to be 8 lbs under per tire (.4 % per tire = 1lb of air pressure. Accepted increase is 3.3%) Since no where near 100% of the driving population is driving around 8 lbs low in all 4 tires, the rest of the equation falls apart.

“So does NASCAR,”

Because NASCAR is known for their conservation of fuel, with 358 ci carbureted v-8’s.

“Charlie Crist(R), Arnold Schwarzenegger(R), and Joe Lieberman(I)”

So? No one is saying that running proper tire pressure is a good thing, the idea that that with tuning (which is damn neared impossible for the average car owner, much less democrats) will save more fuel than drilling.

D-, I will never stop hoping you get a clue.

Jimmy Carter said back in the 70’s that we need to get away from fossil fuels. But he did not understand that someday the nation would be in the hands of big oil people like what we have in charge today.

Remember, Jimmy Carter told citizens to “wear a sweater” during the oil “shortage” of the late 70’s

We need a law that requires all gas stations to have free air so that tires may be checked and filled on every gas tank fill-up.

We need a law that says John McCain can’t serve out Bush’s third term.
