Missouri Democratic party leaders may still hold some animosity towards the Roberts Brothers, but Republican Gov. Matt Blunt apparently doesn’t. Steve Roberts

Blunt today appointed Steve Roberts — who, along with older brother Mike, runs a multi-million dollar hotel and television empire — to the Harris-Stowe State University Board of Regents. The six-year appointment is contingent on Senate confirmation.

Both Mike and Steve are former city alderman.  The family recently drew the ire of Democratic powerbrokers when, despite a personal plea from party Chairman John Temporiti, they refused to withdraw Mike Roberts Jr., Steve’s nephew, from challenging incumbent State Rep. Rachel Storch in last month’s primary.

In the end, voters put a definitive kibosh on the rivalry –Storch bested Roberts Jr. by 80 percet of the vote.

Good for the Roberts family. They showed how hard work results in success. I hope Mike Roberts told Temporiti to stick it. What an arrogant jerk he is to think he can demand people to not want to serve in office. My generation had a saying - question authority. Temporiti’s authority really needs to be questioned.

This is just another example of the Democrats wanting our country to be controlled by attorneys, and only attorneys.

Temporiti (an attorney) would rather see Storch (an attorney) in office than Roberts Jr. (NOT AN ATTORNEY)

The overwhelming majority of Democrats in public office are attorneys or journalists whose spouses are attorneys.

Wake up people! S.E.L.L. (Stop Electing Lawyer Legislators) Take back your state and country. Stop drinking their Kool-Aid.

If Obama wins the General Election, all three branches of our government are controlled by one profession. When the power of our government is placed in the hands of one profession; that is the very definition of tyranny. Good for Steve Roberts. I agree that the Roberts have emphasized that hard work pays off.
