Reminds of the time when he was in the MO House and a vote verification took place. He was clearly standing in the doorway when the board was closed and he had clearly not voted. When the verification was conducted - Russ “I’ve got Integrity but not much smarts” Carnahan asserted that he had voted but his vote had not been registered. The Speaker asked Carnahan several times to affirm that he was present at his desk and had indeed voted and his vote was not accurately reported. Carnahan refused to say that he was at his desk and had indeed voted and it was inaccurately recorded. He knew he hadn’t voted and was at least scared enough to not lie in front of God and everybody.

Wear some lipstick Russ.

Republican “ire” over the lipstick on a pig comment, which was very apropos (and had nothing to do with Paln except to the extent that she is on the Repubilcan ticket) seems manufactured in the extreme. A counter-jab is to be expected, but it shouldn’t be cartoonish if it is to be effective.

The only reason it was used is because Palin used it. No question it was a shot at Palin. Even Obama supporters in the crowd thought it was - that’s why they laughed.

Russ Carnahan is the intellectual equal of George W. Bush. I question the judgment of the Obama-Biden campaign and the Missouri Democratic Party in entrusting Carnahan with such a high-profile role. He stepped in it and helped fan the lipstickgate brouhaha nationally, distracting from Biden’s message.

Democrats play into Republican hands when they play the no-win game of trying to discredit Palin. They should treat Palin just like they would a male veep candidate: ignore her, and stick to drawing contrasts between Obama and McCain.

Obama claims to be a White Sox fan, but he’s choking in September, just like the Cubs.

The lipstick line WAS directed at Palin, it has just enough plausible denialbilty to make it through.

But since you brought up cartoons, the important thing about the whole lipstick on a pig comment is just before he said that, he lifted the lines from a Tom Toles cartoon from Sep 5th. His campaign is now reduced to using lines from cartoons…..it says alot about the candidate.

I agree with Suzyjax. Anytime Carnahan is mentioned, it’s about nothing. He is on par with Lacy Clay in the “useless but still get elected based on name” category.
