Convention to return to a full schedule today
Post-Dispatch Washington Bureau
I’ve just been told that the convention will resume a full schedule today with speeches by Fred Thompson, Sen. Joe Lieberman and a satellite message from President Bush among the offerings.
The schedule had been thrown into uncertainty by Hurricane Gustav, which prompted John McCain to curtail most public activities Monday and cast the rest of the week’s schedule into doubt.
But with Gustav moving out of the New Orleans area and leaving much less damage than Katrina three years earlier, convention planners are filling the schedule once again.
