Emerson tapped for Palin “Truth Squad”
With the national press corps parachuting into Anchorage and conspiracy theories flying across cyberspace, the GOP has formed a coalition to stand-up for veep nominee Sarah Palin. 
Among the 20 members of Palin’s national “Truth Squad” — all females — is U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson, a Republican from Cape Girardeau.
“We will not allow those on the left and in the media to smear a woman who has always served her constituents with honor,” said former Massachusetts Gov. Jane Swift, another Squad member in a statement Tuesday. “We know the truth and are committed to ensuring it as well.”
As the Riverfront Times points out, bogus pictures like this one have been circulating the Internet such Palin joined the ticket.
Far more substantive, however, is a story on the front page of yesterday’s Washington Post that examined Palin’s travel expenses as governor of Alaska.
Earlier in the campaign, presidential nominee John McCain formed his own “Truth Squad” in an attempt to knock down stealth opposition in the primary.
McCain, perhaps more than most candidates, knows the damage viral political attacks can inflict — his 2000 bid for the presidential nominee was torpedoed by a smear campaign in South Carolina.
Well, Jo Ann, git to it, girlfriend!!! Now…are you going to be working to uncover the absolute truth, you know…the facts as they are, whether good or bad, or the “truth” that’s simply expedient for the Republican slime machine to manipulate, or better said, Roviate?

As mayor of Wasilla, Sara Palin charged victims of rape for the forensic testing and collection of evidence, rape kit. She was Mayor of Wasilla from 1996 to 2002 and city council from 92-96 The troopers and most muni agencies covered the cost. Not the city of Wasilla, the police dept charged for the rape kit. Governor Tony Knowles an man put a stop to this in 2000. Sara appointed police Chief f Charlie Fannon he disagreed with the law. “The law will require the city and communities to come up with more funds to cover the costs of the forensic exams.” Take note the article says they charged insurance companies, so that left victim with co-payments assuming all had insurance and it wasn‘t a denied clime. Recently she replaced the police commissioner with Chuck Kopp. He has a prior work record of sexual harassment that he was reprimanded for. Sara is obviously for abstinence only education, No abortion even in the case of rape, and incest Alaska is 1 in the country for rape and incest.
While its great she went back to work 3 days after having her child, what message does that send to bonding families, healing mothers and employers not happy with maternity leave. Sara has signed up with a man who has consistently voted against equal pay for women. Is she really a woman or is she a man trapped in a woman body with lipstick.
As time goes by, Sarah Palin’s own words and actions as Mayor and Gov. will sink the McCain/Palin campaign. It’s evident that the McCain campaign knows this because they are only allowing her to make her “canned” stump speech time after time, prohibiting contact with the press, and establishing the “truth squad” of only women to scream Sexism whenever she is asked a tough question.
McCain did no favors for the GOP, Palin and women in public service when he didn’t properly vet her. In the end, McCain and the GOP spin machine will blame Sarah if he loses the election.
