Illinois GOP enjoys sushi, martinis for hurricane relief
MINNEAPOLIS — Though there were no signs of Hugh Hefner, it was the Illinois Republican delegation’s turn to enjoy a swank affair Monday night.
The function at Minneapolis’ Guthrie Theater featured smooth jazz, sushi on ice, and flavored martinis.
In the wake Hurricane Gustav, the party became a fundraiser for storm relief, with the Illinois GOP and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange contributing $10,000 each.
