Joyce on “Truth Squad”: Not about prosecuting people

St. Louis Circuit Jennifer Joyce has been caught in a dust-up over her presence on a “Truth Squad” for Barack Obama. Jennifer Joyce

For the background, see Jo Mannies’ post below.

Now, here is a statement from Joyce:

As a citizen, I believe that elections should be about issues.  I also have enormous respect for our First Amendment and freedom of speech.  My sole purpose in participating in this initiative is about getting truthful information to the voters.  This has never been or never will be about prosecuting people.

Clearly there are those who are attempting to twist the purpose of this initiative for their own benefit. This attack is a great example of how the truth is distorted in campaigns and what we’re trying to stand up against.

So Jennifer, care to really clarify your position? We didn’t twist it, we took it as face value. Quit trying to not mean what you said. You said it…own it….

So I’m sure Ms. Joyce will be giving equal time to prosecuting Obama ads that twist the truth beyond recognition as well. Yes? I think not. This is just another example of liberals preaching tolerance as long as you think like they do.

Joyce and Mcculloch are using public funds to promote the Democrat party. They should spend time on voter fraud -which is illegal-and not spend time on possibly chilling free speech.

Hitler would be so proud! I guess Ms Joyce missed that year of Constitutional Law. We can only hope the good people of Missouri have enough sense to remove her from office. Just remember whose campaign has organized this “Truth Squad”.

This is just another example of a politically partisan democrat thinking they know better than the rest of us. As if the rest of us are so dumb that we can’t tell the difference between truth and lies and so to make it “easy” they will eliminate the first amendment rights of those who might say something they disagree with.

Well Ms. Joyce, we see right through you! If you can’t give us the benefit of the doubt to see through partisan punditry well then we can’t give you the benefit of the doubt regarding your intelligence!

A man with a rifle is less to fear, than a quisling with a pen. To support anti American values is or rather should be grounds for disbarment. The courts have already ruled that political ads to not need to have any truth. OBama does not want the truth, that’s why he uses the teleprompter — so his handlers can put the words in this puppets mouth.

There is nothing new about the way Obama is covering his ass in this campaign - with thug tactics, threats of lawsuits and now intimidation by local law enforcement. here have been many reports from the ‘behind the scenes’ of the Obama campaign. Threats of law suits are growing rapidly. He has spent a half a billion dollars trying to get elected. It is appearing that a large portion of this mass of wealth is being spent on strong arm tactics. The MSM’s silence is deafening.

And for Jennifer Joyce to happily go along with this nonsense is indicative of just how badly a house cleaning of local St Louis government is in order.

These strong arm tactics are reminiscent of any despotic tyrant, and a sad commentary on the state of American politics. We can do better, we should demand better … and we should demand resignations, and if we don’t get them, get them out of office by whatever legal means are at our disposal.

Ms. Mannies, more of us than you think have read Orwell’s 1984. Doublespeak does not not become you.

I used to live in St. Louis. Not sure if your’s is an elected position, but for freedom’s sake, Citizens of St. Louis, get rid of this statist.

It sounds to me like yet another wanna-be dictator’s henchman got caught with her hand in the cookie jar. Unfortunately for her, the citizens of this fair state and this great country still do believe in their rights as described in the US Constitution. They tend to get a bit testy when someone who was entrusted with elected office sets themselves up in opposition to those rights.
