Koster spent $2 million in primary
In last month’s primary for attorney general, Chris Koster spent nearly as much as his two chief Democratic rivals put together.
Reports filed today with the Ethics Commission show that Koster spent about $2 million, compared to $1.2 million for Margaret Donnelly and $978,335 for Jeff Harris.
Koster edged Donnelly by about 850 votes but Donnelly has requested a recount, which is expected to wrap up by next week.
Donnelly’s campaign reported a $364,568 debt while Koster is 200,000 in the red.
But thanks to the removal of contribution limits, Koster has already stockpiled $226,109 for a November battle with Republican Mike Gibbons. Gibbons, who faced no primary opponent, reports a $564,454 war chest.

I guess I’ve missed something here in the past about what these state candidates policies and past records are. All I ever read about is how much money each has and has spent. Is this how I am supposed to base my vote? I’m sorry, but I don’t know these people and I haven’t been enlightened one bit from any of these articles. I guess I need to start following the careers of these small town prosecutors and minor state officials so I can try to figure out which ones are worth voting for in the event they run for state or federal office.
I guess his daddy Sinqfield wrote a check. Now that the limits are off he doesn’t have to cheat anymore. The question is… What will he say, do, promise to eek this one out?
Koster has never explained why he voted to kick more than 100,000 off health care or for photo id, MOHELA. WHy he sponsored farm bureau CAFO bill. We he voted to prevent the teaching of sex ed in the schools. We had two good candidates. They split the vote and Koster getting Molly Williams in did just enough for him to win with a third of the vote. Well there are two thirds of us that know that the man is an imposter. Koster missed all the forums and raised a bunch of money illegally and still barely won. Gibbons is worthless but I will be voting for him to excise the cancer out of our party. You have to have your own house in order before you try to clean someone elses.
I will vote for him but I am not happy with Jay Nixon either. He ought to be ashamed he was neutral in this race when Koster voted for everything Jay has complained about. He could have dual endorsed like NARAL did.
Koster did not raise any money illegally. Really, you need to stop throwing around these false accusations.
