Sen. Claire McCaskill is probably among the Top 25 wealthiest lawmakers in Washington, according to one rough estimation.

Roll Call, the Capitol Hill newspaper, ranks the Missouri Democrat as #14 on a recent tally of the richest members of Congress.

McCaskill’s wealth increased nearly a quarter in the last year, the paper reports, increasing to $19.42 million.

Much of her wealth comes from the real estate portfolio of her husband, developer Joe Shepard, who specializes in affordable housing.

The Roll Call list is admittedly flawed because it relies on congressional disclosure forms, which requires legislators provide only a range of their asset values and wealth.

That said, Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry — who married into the Heinz ketchup fortune — topped the list, with West Virginia Sen. Jay Rockefeller coming in fourth.

Sen. John McCain, whose wife controls an Anheuser-Busch distributor in Arizona, ranked just above McCaskill at #13.

Barack Obama did not make the top 50.
