This isn’t about Bristol Palin, it’s about McCain’s lack of judgement. Even his own staff admits they had less than 2 days to vett Palin. McCain only met with her once before he asked her to be on the ticket. He’s compulsive. Often irrational..If the Democrats would hire a Karl Rove (which they won’t,) we would see a campaign ad with Palin wearing her 1988 beauty queen dress with tiara as the Chief Justice states: “If for any reason, the presidening winner of this contest is unable to fullfill their obligations and duties……”

This is ridiculous - almost everyone in America has had these issues - they are non-issues. Just because John McCain does not have to check his teleprompter before he speaks he is compulsive - bologna.

Irrational - voting for a unprepared, left wing liberal for anything - let alone President. Obama will not win this election and you know it. Why - because of people like Garrison.

Wow, looks like that abstinence only education program Ms. Palin advocates for everybody else’s kids was a smashing success with her daughter. Guess that’s just your typical “do as I say not as I do” nonesense these bible-thumping hypocrites keep pimping.

Jim…let me get this straight. You just said McCain doesn’t need a teleprompter? We’re talking about the same John McCain?
Do a YouTube on “McCain vs Teleprompter”.
He makes George W. Bush look like Winston Churchill.

Garrison,

You Obama supporters will wake up on Nov 5 with John McCain as President and you will just never be able to figure it out. By the way, if vetting gives us Joe Biden, who could not even stir a percent of vote himself, good luck.

If you still can’t figure it out, I’ll let you in on the answer to this election. It’s about Obama - not about McCain. It ain’t gonna work.

No-one can possibly seriously claim that a proper vetting process was performed in finding Ms. “Alaska First.” Be prepared for more credible proof of this lapse in judgment in the days and weeks ahead.

Palin has raised a boozing, high school drop-out, teenage mom. All the while, ascending the political ladder when she should have been teaching her family valuable lessons. Then she decided to push her daughters situation into the worldwide spotlight by accepting this futile VP nod. Look at the pictures taken from Bristol’s website (link above). I hope her mother was at least around enough to teach her daughter about the dangers of drinking while pregnant. Wait, why would she have told her that? I mean, teenagers don’t have sex before they are married if their parents and community have the foresight to disallow ANY talk of condom use or pre-marital sex in lieu of abstinence-only sex ed. Take a bow, Ms. Palin. Your policies have worked marvelously.

I am one of the many American voters that has to conclude a very strong criticism of the Republican party. I have never been a strong Democrat, but the repulsive nature of the Republicans finds me willing to work for Democrats and help pay for Democrat candidates campaign expenses. The thing about Republicans that I see more and more is that they have double standards. For the lady in the clip to repeat “Family matter, its a family matter” is not a dodge. It is an insult. I would never dare make light of this young ladies situation and I don’t think that anyone would attack her because she became pregnant. The problem that no Republican is able to run away from is that they constantly attempt to hold themselves up as the “party of morals.” All they have to do is admit that they make mistakes! They want to manipulate, instead of govern. They want to scare instead of solve. The facts that are now coming to light about Governor Palin are not all peaches and cream. She doesn’t need to answer to the public about her daughter carrying a child. She needs to re-evaluate her past work with claiming that abstinence should be mandatory for preventing pregnancy. I do not want my son or my two daughters to have pre-marital sex, but more realistically I feel that they need to learn about using condoms and that they should understand when someone is trying to put undue pressure on them to have sex that they put aside the moment and think of life with a baby or worse dying from a disease. I will end my soapbox speech with one plea to Republicans in office, running for office and supporting both. Stop trying to convince people that you are perfect.

Ms Nord is correct in saying this is a family matter and should not be made “political” — however, if it were the unmarried pregnant daughter of a Democratic Presidential/Vice-Presidential candidate, would she and others like her feel the same?

Certain members of the Karl Rove Royalist Republicans do not like morally consistent principles applied in both directions.
