Race between Graves and ex-KC mayor Barnes heats up
If Democrats gain Congressional seats in Missouri, they will likely come from a pair of women contenders.
You already know about Columbia State Rep. Judy Baker, fighting former state tourism director Blaine Luetkemeyer to replace Kenny Hulshof in the 9th District, which includes parts of St. Charles County.
Less known in this part of the state, however, is the battle between former Kansas City Mayor Kay Barnes, and incumbent U.S. Rep. Sam Graves. In a year where Hillary Clinton has energized the Democratic female vote, the national party has to be happy about a woman with campaign cash and name recognition vying to turn a seat from red to blue.
If elected, Barnes would join another ex-KC mayor, U.S. Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, on Capitol Hill.

Wow! Barnes went negative first? I thought Graves was supposed to be the bad guy. My guess, based on the two most recent polls, Barnes must know she is in big trouble.
“If Democrats gain Congressional seats in Missouri, they will likely come from a pair of women contenders”. “Survey says,” I outpoll at least one of them; or if we all three win, I’ll settle for that. They’re both very wonderful, but just like sometimes the best man for the job is a woman, and, of course, a woman’s place is in the house, and in the senate, and for a woman to be considered 1/2 as good as a man she has to do twice as much, fortunately that’s not usually too difficult, (I think I’ll leave alone the “a woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle; among other reasons, when I had fish, angels usually, they all had bicycles), “no one ever got rich selling me short,” Pliny. Whether I’m 1 in 4 or 1 in 3, if it’s there, I’m going to find it. Without a 1/2 a million, will admittedly be a little tricky, so looking for the money. It’s all about money, isnt that sad? I think the law should be changed so the one who gets the most votes per dollar spent, or some proportionate sliding scale thereof, should be the winner.
Why not include the San Francisco ad in the story? I guess I’ll just go to youtube.
