Suit maker visited by Obama will cut 250 jobs

A Cape Girardeau clothing factory Barack Obama visited earlier this year will shed 250 jobs, the local newspaper reports this morning.

According to the Southeast Missourian, Thorngate Ltd., which specializes in men’s couture, will eliminate its entire sewing division. That comes after news last month announcement that the plant was shortening shifts for workers.

Obama visited Thorngate — located in the hometown of conservative icon Rush Limbaugh — in May, a time when he was, nominally at least, still fighting Hillary Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination.

When the firm announced its first round of cutbacks in August, the Obama campaign called it an “urgent reminder that we can’t afford four more years of the failed Bush economic policies that John McCain is offering.”

See the video above of Obama’s appearance at the plant.

A suit maker getting visited by an empty suit. Now that’s funny!

PS - Tim Hogan, you’re an idiot.
