A cadre of Bush administration officials have been tapped as campaign aides to Republican veep nominee Sarah Palin, including one charged specifically with preparing the Alaskan governor for debate here on Oct. 2. Mark Wallace

We’ve already talked about the challenges facing Democrat Joe Biden at the Wash. U event: He’s got more experience as an orator, but an aggressive approach could make him look like a bully.

Palin, who just four years ago was the mayor of a small town in Alaska, has a different problem: Making sure her knowledge stands up to the senior Senator from Delaware.

That’s perhaps why, according to the Politico, the campaign has tapped seasoned Republican attorney David Wallaceto get Palin ready for battle of No. 2s.

Wallace has a long resume covering politics, government and diplomacy. He’s been a legal advisor to the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Justice and the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

He was also a key attorney for Bush during the 2000 recount in Florida.

More recently, Wallace was deputy U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, a role where he earned praise as a crusader against corruption.

Joining Wallace in his inner-circle will be his wife, former White House communications director Nicole Wallace, as well as Tracy Schmitt, former spokeswoman for the Republican National Committee, and Tucker Eskew, who also worked in the White House communications office.

Can we nominate the following Political Fix regulars to assist in Palin’s debate prep?

D. Walker - as himself portraying Joe Biden’s talking to excess in an endless loop pausing only to misstate Catholic doctrine and “btw, did I say I’m from Scranton?”

RHarnack - to represent the Jane Fonda-surrender-at-all-costs-I-was-a-coward-then-but-an-intellectual-poseur-now wing of the Leftist Democrat Party.

garrison/CLARKE - providing an endless flow of angry DailyKos/Nutroots/RedDiaperBabies talking points.

Is there a second? Do I have a second?

“a cadre of Bush administration officials have been tapped as campaign aides to Republican veep nominee Sarah Palin”

Oh how very ‘mavrick’ and changetastic of them. So the Republican plan is to hide Bush, proclaim to be reformers, all the while utilizing his all-knowing and super successful staff and policies to try to win…

Anybody checked to see if Eric Mink has written another article condemning America’s “sick fixation” with the events of 9/11 ??
