Watch out, Palin — here comes Bill Haas
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
Bill Haas, the improbable Democratic nominee in the 2nd Congressional District, already faces a formidable challenge in Republican incumbent Todd Akin – but that’s not stopping him from tangling with the top of the GOP ticket.
In a radio ad airing on KTRS, Haas takes aim at Republican veep nominee Sarah Palin. Listen to what the ex-St. Louis School Board candidate and four-time mayoral candidate says about the “hockey mom” Alaskan governor.

Wagman —
Isn’t peddling Bill Haas beneath you?

I’m absolutely sure Governor Palin is not losing any sleep over Bill Haas’ lies in his ad.
She did reject the bridge to nowhere before congress did infuriating Sen. Stevens. She didn’t “keep” the money - Congress sent it to Alaska anyway for their DOT needs.
One wouldn’t expect a desparate candidate like Obama or Haas to tell the truth - which is exactly why no one should vote for them. Sadly they will - happily not enough to win.
Oh yes - it is laudable I suppose that Obama and Biden stood by the bridge to nowhere until the bitter end. That’s whats so funny about Jay Nixon’s commercial against Hulshof. If Hulshof is a Washington insider and big spender because he supported the bill with the bridge to nowhere - then Obama and Biden are as well and using Jay’s logic - we should not vote for them - which I agree.
Obama and Biden have diriter hands than that on earmarks however. The “Democratic ticket has requested millions of dollars worth of earmarks. Between 2006 and 2008, Obama requested over $740 million, according to the March 14 New York Times. The Wall Street Journal cited a higher estimate on September 15 of $860 million, according to Taxpayers for Common Sense.
The Times reported that the list of requests “included $1 million for a hospital where Mr. Obama’s wife works, money for several projects linked to campaign donors and support for more than 200 towns, civic institutions and universities in Illinois.”
Obama’s campaign Web site detailed the requests, which also included $62 million for the Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy, $8 million for Human Genome Expression, $4.8 million for a Light Emitting Diode Healing Program and $2 million for a Soybean Disease Biotechnology Center.
According to the Journal, Obama “halted all earmark requests in fiscal 2009.”
As for the Democratic nominee for vice president, Biden’s made 119 earmark requests for 2009 totaling $323 million. Republicans are pressuring Biden to release records of his earmark requests for the past 35 years.
As Time magazine’s Mark Halperin said on ABC “World News” September 9, “There’s almost no politician in America with a clean record on earmarks.” Halperin then credited McCain for being one of the few exceptions.
ABC’s Ron Claiborne responded, saying. “In his 26 years, in Congress, McCain has never asked for an earmark.” “
Sarah the dog and McCain the mackeral better start pucking their right wing buttcheeks because time is drawing near for real deal, expect some suprise to blow up Fox RUSH LIMBURGER ticket!

Also, I just witnessed Palin and McCain lying like drunken sailers (LIVE)!
They are now saying Obama is responsible for the Fannie Mae banking crisis by them having him in their pockets. Hopefully soon the site will be exposing McCain and Palins lies that they have spewed just this morning.
I, like CJ suggested under a different thread, check out the facts through FACTCHECK!

Who would waste ink or money on a Bill Haas campaign?
Run Bill Run! You have more support than you realize.
Aikin’s a government subsidized farmer, a free-loader, and a religious and political opportunist…
Yesterday, Aikin introduced legislation to limit executive pay for CEO’s. Great news Todd! The Democrats [through the AFL-CIO] have introduced similar legislation every year, only to have you and every other Republican lobbyist reject it as an impediment to the free-market…Then you open your pockets.
Why the change of heart Todd? Find another opportunity?
Bill,
Running against someone other than your actual opponents is a time-honored political strategy, and a good one. Barack Obama will almost certainly win the White House if he just runs hard enough against George W. Bush. Palin’s not a bad opponent to select either — if you’re afraid to compete with the other candidates in, um, your race.
And, apparently you are. In reply to my public challenge to debate, you privately replied that you would ask that I be invited to any debates, but that that would be “up to the organizers.” Question: Who organized your “town hall meetings.” You know, the ones that you invited Todd Akin, but not me, to engage with you at?
Ah, well. I look forward to meeting at the Troy Chamber of Commerce forum on the 6th. Or perhaps the League of Women Voters event in Kirkwood on the 20th. Whatever it takes to engage you on the issues in THIS race, for THIS seat.
Heck, we can even do that right here if you like. Since the Bridge to Nowhere seems to have captured your imagination, perhaps we can debate, or perhaps just discuss, earmarks in general.

JasonB., you’re right on the mark.
“Who would waste ink or money on a Bill Haas campaign?”
uh, I dont know. Democrats, moderate Republicans and Independents tired of Bush/Akin politics as usual that isnt working domestically or internationally, maybe? Someone who thinks he’s had 8 years with a friendly president and until recently a friendly Congress and hasnt done anything about anything and think he’s had his chance and now I want mine?
And there were actually two different commercials, tho similar; dont know if Jake put them both up, but will check when I get a chance. “Highlights: everything she says has three parts, a noun, a verb and the lie about the bridge. She’s like Richard Pryor who used to say, who are you going to believe, me or your lying eyes. Well, I promise not to lie to you about the bridge or anything else, before, during or after the election. If they lie about this what else are they lying about? For one, they’re not about change, they’re more of the same on every issue. And if they lie to you before the election, they’ll lie to you after.”
But you still should listen to the commercial to get full effect; and music is great, too. and Thomas, my brother, I’ll respond to you when get a chance, if havent already.
ps today at West County Chamber of Commerce, I was going to tell them that “it’s too bad that the SEC has banned short selling, because I was going to tell you to sell your Akin stock short. I wonder if he knows what that means? Probably not, because it’s not in the bible.” But I didnt have time and his daughter was there; not going to do that. and Todd, I’m kidding, I tease, I having a little fun with you.
