Secretary of State Robin Carnahan just released a statement praising today’s ruling keeping a gambling issue on the Nov. 4 ballot.

The ruling, described in my story on the mother ship, found that the ballot measure complies with the state’s single-subject rule.

Carnahan, who certified the measure for the ballot, said:

“I remained confident throughout the process that the court would find my office followed the law in certifying Proposition A for the November ballot.

“Missourians can rest assured that I will continue to work to ensure fairness and integrity in all aspects of the elections process.”

How can the SOS be “confident” or ask the voters to “rest assured” (regarding) “fairness” when she is the only Secretary in the State’s history to have her ballot summary language rejected twice, and by two different judges at that? Wow!
