Carnahan’s cars vandalized with anti-bailout messages

Two cars belonging to the family of U.S. Rep. Russ Carnahan, D-St. Louis, were vandalized overnight in front of his home in Compton Heights.
According to neighbors, someone had spray-painted or painted the words “Traitor,” “Bailout for China is treason,” and “Psalm 2.”
Some of the graffiti appears to refer to the $700 billion financial-institution bailout package that Congress approved a few weeks ago. Carnahan had voted for the measure.
The vandal or vandals used white paint on the family’s black car, and black paint on its silver car. One vehicle was in the Carnahans’ driveway, and the other was parked on the street in front of the congressman’s house.
Sources tell us that the U.S. Capitol police is getting involved in the investigation. Earlier this week, six of Minnesota’s members of Congress — both senators and four House members –had been the victims of similar crimes.
According to the AP:
“Vandals late Tuesday and early Wednesday spray-painted graffiti on the homes and garages of Sens. Norm Coleman and Amy Klobuchar and Reps. Jim Ramstad, John Kline, Keith Ellison and Michele Bachmann.
“At the Coleman residence, ‘U R A criminal resign or else’ was spray-painted on the garage along with the words ‘Scum’ and ‘Psalm 2.’ At Ellison’s home, ’scum’ was scrawled on the garage and ‘traitor,’ ‘resign now’ and ‘Psalm 2′ on the house.
“The Bible’s Psalm 2 warns ‘kings of the earth’ against incurring God’s wrath.”

The reason America is a scary place Bill is not because of the act of vandalism, but the corrupt politicians who lined their own pockets with “bailout” money
I find it confusing for people like ev63110 to defend people like Carnahan who take a paycheck out of our tax money to give the rest of our money to the wall street fat cats.
Would you still defend Carnahan if he robbed you at gunpoint? I think not.
Whoever did this is a patriot and a real American in my opinion.
Just to clear up a some bad information in the comments section. Carnahan’s does not have a garage, there is a driveway on the side of his house where one car was vandalized and the other car was parked out on the street.
I see Carnahan is no friend of the environment with his SUV. Jo Mannies is trying to help him out of this jam, hoping nobody notices it’s an SUV in the picture, by calling it a ‘car’.
Hmmm. Not the usual vehicle break-in so common in the City. The people that did this are jerks!
Just FYI JoeCool Carnahan’s SUV is Ford Escape Hybrid. Know your facts before you pop off.
I am saddened by this act of vandalism. It doesn’t matter if I voted for Representative Carnahan or did not. (As a matter of fact, I did not.) He is still an elected Representative for all in his district. He was elected by the majority in his district. This is the fair system we have fought for yearsto have. All of us have lost a parent, grandparent or even sibling our spouse to one of the wars that were fought for our Freedom of Choice. We chose to use the Majority rules system. Sometimes it is our choice of candidate that wins and other times it is the other guy’s choice. Suppose for a moment that Representative Carnahan’s opponent had been elected. Would all of the anti-Carnahan supporters be saying the same thing if it happened to their elected candidate. No!. I think not! This could happen to any of us. It is a HATE crime. This is the United States of America and we all need to agree to disagree - agreeably.
If anyone has a gripe, then SAY IT AT THE POLLS ON ELECTION DAY. This is the freedom for which our forefathers went to war. They gave us a voice. We need to use that voice and not cans of paint and hatred.
These acts of violence will get us nowhere. Next time, instead of our Representative, it could happen to our sisters, brothers or our mothers fopr just having the opponent’s bumper sticker on their vehicle. After that, it could be muggings and even killings. The HATE has to stop somewhere. Can we not let it stop right here!

I do know my facts and neither one of his vehicles qualifies as a ‘car’. Hybrids use gas or electric and both cause pollution. I realize Carnahan wants a pass because it’s a hybrid but electric production burns coal and that’s just like exhaust coming out of his tailpipe. Hybrids are no more environmentally friendly than any other vehicle on the road. YOU get your facts straight before you pop off.
There is a CLEAR message here and most Missourians will agree: WE ARE FED UP WITH OUR REPRESENTATIVES NOT REPRESENTING US.
Next election, VOTE OUT ALL EXISTING SENATORS AND CONGRESSMEN, EVEN IF IT MEANS VOTING IN SOMEONE LIKE SARAH PALIN, at least we send a clear message to DC, we are not going to stand for this anymore.
