As the standard campaign tune “Celebrate” reverberates in the background, the VIPS are starting to role-in at the Barack Obama rally at the Arch: Former Sen. Jean Carnahan and Mayor Francis Slay have arrived.

Secretary of State Robin Carnahan and her husband, Juan Carlos, have also been spotted, along with brothers Russ, the congressman, and Tom, the wind farmer.

Expect to soon see U.S. Rep. Lacy Clay — an early Obama supporter whose district includes the Arch.

Meanwhile, the line for regular folks to get in still stretches to the north end of the park grounds.

Is Juan Carlos the Spanish equivalent of having two first names? Why didn’t she take his last name? Boring story.

Got a cure for that, you know. You wouldn’t have to wait in lines if Barrack’s boys had scheduled the rally at the Hearnes Center, the John Q. Hammonds Center, or the Show-Me Center.

REGULAR FOLKS?

Don’t both campaigns have their regular folks and the VIP’s?

Or, does Ms. Mannies think it is only the Democrats who make such distinctions? My understanding and experience is just about every event in this world have such so why make mention as to some how insinuate that dirty word attached to Democrats “elitists”?

But, for safety reasons, I find that such things are required in most instances whether a rock or hip-hop concert, a political event or large religious event that’s just life in a perverse world full of perverse people.

Steve,

I think that I would also if I were in her shoes but its none of my or your business to even wonder about such things.
