The media-monitoring service says that 58.3 percent of homes with televisions in the St. Louis area watched the vice-presidential face-off at Washington University.

Only one market — Baltimore, where 59.1 percent of viewers watched — had a higher local rating for the Biden/Palin debate. Boston, Nashville and Norfolk, Va. were also in the top five.

The market with the lowest rating was Los Angeles, where about 34 percent watched.

For the first presidential debate last week, 52.1 percent of St. Louis viewers tuned in, a higher rate than any other market in the country. Though last night’s debate drew even more viewers here.
