Election resources abound for voters who want help
As the election draws near, my inbox has been swamped with election information by various groups. Most claim to offer guidance and assistance for voters as they head to the ballot boxes.
Here are a few of the highlights:
- 866OURVOTE.orgThe Election Protection coalition is partnered with a long list of organizations — some of them openly left-leaning — and has created this web site. Among other things, it encourages voters to report problems at polls, offers help to voters who have faced home foreclosure and has published a student voting guide. It also works with the Election Day hotline: 1-866-OUR-VOTE.
- VOTE411.org This web site is sponsored by the League of Women Voters. It includes look-up information for voter registration, polling places, ballot info and more. Also included is the League’s presidential election voters’ guide.
- VOTE MISSOURI This site is run by Secretary of State Robin Carnahan’s office as the state’s “voting rights center.” Through it, you can check if you are registered at your current address, look up your polling place and more. The offers lots of other rules and information and a three-minute video guide to voting.
