GOP operative with Mo ties cited as “Palin’s personal shopper”
As related earlier today by our own Jake Wagman, Saks at Frontenac Plaza is one of the recipients of the $150,000 that the Republican Nationa Committee spent to clothe GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.
The swank shop is among those listed by the online political-reporting site Politico, in a story that broke today.
Now, The Atlantic magazine has identified the person listed on the FEC reports as the one who apparently bought the clothes (or authorized the purchases): Jeff Larson.
As the magazine states in a story headlined “Sarah Palin’s Personal Shopper:”
”Larson is the Karl Rove protégé who’s a principal in the robocalling firm of FLS Connect (the “FLS” stands for Tony Feather, Jeff Larson, and Tom Syndhorst, all veteran Republican political operatives).
Feather is a veteran Missouri Republican consultant, who used to work for the state party in the early 1990s. He still resides with his family in Jefferson City.
The Atlantic adds that the Larson-Feather firm “is the same one that launched the scurrilous robocalls against John McCain in 2000, and that McCain has now hired to make robocalls connecting Barack Obama to Bill Ayers. (Larson) is also well known in Minnesota for leasing his basement apartment at a steeply discounted rate to embattled Republican Senator Norm Coleman. Evidently, Larson also has quite the eye for women’s fashion. Even hateful liberals would have to admit that Palin dresses awfully nicely.”
The Associated Press is reporting that $41,850 was spent in St. Louis in early September.

That’s a crack team of hardhitting, investigative reporters you got going there. On the relevancy to anything even remotely interesting scale, this is right up there with Joe the Plumber’s divorce records. Readers anxiously await the next installment.
Please, flog this shiny object of a non-story to death. Voters are more interested in what kind of shoes Sarah Palin wears than something silly like, oh I don’t know, why Sen Biden was yanked off the campaign trail the other day or why Sen Obama steadfastly refuses to release his campaign’s small donor records. Afterall, we’re only talking about the future of the Republic. What’s that you say? Sarah Palin uses teeth whiteners?!? Scandal!!!
Question: Should Americans succumb completely to mass hypnosis and actually elect Obama, which do you think will occur first? 1) A deliberate international crisis to test the neophyte president 2) His getting indicted by the feds in a RICOH investigation, or 3) The Post-Dispatch going out of business?
