New Rams coach Haslett roots for the GOP

Haslett

While we wait to see what scheme new Rams coach Jim Haslett brings to the team’s feckless offense, we can already guess where he stands politically.

Haslett, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, gave $2,000 to the Republican National Committee in 2004, when he was coach of the New Orleans Saints.

He took over the Rams two weeks ago from ex-coach Scott Linehan, after the squad laid down yet another clunker at the Dome.

Haslett will head into, of all places, Washington on Sunday, where he will be looking for the team’s first win.

Will his Republican leanings helped him win some fans in D.C.?

Don’t count on it — if there was one thing Beltway partisans can all agree on, it’s their love of the Redskins.

I’m not one to complain about content on a free website, but I really don’t get this article. Sure, we can guess where he stands politically, but that doesn’t mean its accurate. This only tells us where he stood politically in 2004. A lot has changed in four years. And who cares anyways? It will just allow a lot of people to come on here and make assumptions about him. Silly.

I hope haslett does well, he got a bad deal from the Saints, of course he is not taking over a great team here either..

oh and the NFC east is the toughest conference in the NFL according to many, and the Rams get them all.

*sigh*

I won’t hold that against him I guess but what I really want to know is can this man turn our team around, Repulican or not it doesn’t make a difference when those players get on the field and get smacked around by the Cowboys.

This is one of those articles I could have doen without…boorrrrrring

I generally defend the STLPD, but this article is trash. Not only can you not deduce his political support from four years ago, but exactly how is this relevant or newsworthy?

What a contrived, pointless story.

Pulitzer rolling over in his grave with you people.

who cares, such a stupid article, this is a great way to make people hate this man before he ever takes the field. If he is dumb enough to still be republican……………. Oh wait, I guess I would be republican too if I made millions a year.
