New Rams coach Haslett roots for the GOP

Haslett

While we wait to see what scheme new Rams coach Jim Haslett brings to the team’s feckless offense, we can already guess where he stands politically.

Haslett, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, gave $2,000 to the Republican National Committee in 2004, when he was coach of the New Orleans Saints.

He took over the Rams two weeks ago from ex-coach Scott Linehan, after the squad laid down yet another clunker at the Dome.

Haslett will head into, of all places, Washington on Sunday, where he will be looking for the team’s first win.

Will his Republican leanings helped him win some fans in D.C.?

Don’t count on it — if there was one thing Beltway partisans can all agree on, it’s their love of the Redskins.

If he turns the Rams around like the Bush Administration did to our economy, the Rams won’t win another game until 2016.

Wow. This is certainly a blow to Haslett’s credibility!

Oh yeah, if he actually had any.

Yikes! Does this mean after eight years of failure, we’re in for more of the same??

There’s still time to leave the Dark Side, Haslett! Repent for the good of the whole city!!

Why is this news? And why stop there. What about Kevin Mobray or Pam Maples or Arnie Robbins? What about Tony LaRussa? This is why the PD will soon be shutting down.
Why not a piece from the PD on the Obama-Ayers-ACORN-Fannie Mae - Barney Frank connection. Too heavy for you guys?

Kevin, where do I start…Are you so f*cking stupid to think that all rich people are Republicans, or that poor people are all Democrats? Your beloved Obama is a multi-millionaire, as is Biden, as are Hillary and Bill, the list goes on. It is well-documented that many a CEO has donated to Obama, and to both Clintons, so stop with your stupid, moronic comments that all Republicans are rich. I’m middle class - the class of which Obama preaches to be the champion - and I’m a life-long Republican. I’ll never be rich, but I still think it is absurd to think that people who have achieved great financial success should be obligated to have any of their wealth handed over to the “I have no interest in working because the government will fund my entire life” kind of people. That is a socialistic concept, and you Democrats run with it.

I agree with everyone else that this article is ridiculous, with no point, other than to somehow “degrade” Haslett for daring to be a Republican. Unreal.

Despite the flaw of his political leanings, Coach Haslett is a definite hottie! Woo-hoo!! Things are lookin’ up fo’ the Rams!

Wow… it’s not too often that we see near total agreement from people around here. Way to go Jake!

Most everyone seems to be in agreement that with this story the Post is at best silly and at worse rock stupid.

I’m good with that.
