Page taps medical colleagues to parry Kinder attack
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
State Rep. Sam Page, an anesthesiologist and the Democratic nominee for lieutenant governor, has tapped other medical professionals to help counter an ad by Republican rival Peter Kinder, who accused Page of “double dealing” by pushing for higher Medicaid reimbursements.
Page’s web video includes health providers from St. Louis and Poplar Bluff.

The only person from this party I will vote for is Sam Page! He has stayed honest and positive while Kinder is deep in the gutter.
What a bunch of hooey from Kinder. Page voted to increase Medicaid rates for physicians because Missouri’s reimbursement to physicians is pitiful!! Physicians make pennies on the dollar from Missouri Medicaid, and because of this, patients are having a very hard time finding doctors who actually participate in the system. This is about patient’s access to physicians, not more pay for Dr. Page.
Finally the truth about Medicaid!! Doctors do not and have never gotten wealthy from medicaid patients! They loose money. Kudos to Sam Page for getting this message out. Shame on Peter Kinder for the scare tactics and down right deceit!! Sam Page is the only viable candidate!
When it comes to Missouri healthcare, Dr. Page embraces Bob Holden’s old budgeting philosophy: Spend with reckless abandon as though you have a state surplus (when you don’t) and then proceed to run our economy aground. Then let the Republicans pull our economic ship off the rocks, but accuse them of being heartless as they make the tough choices to keep us afloat. Page would run our state’s economy aground again, if he becomes Lt. Governor. Fiscal responsibility and humane public policy can go hand in hand, but Page just does not understand how to make it work.
Dr. Page’s approach to healthcare is simple: He feels he should get a piece of every healthcare dollar that passes through Missouri.
Agree with MO Healthcare Advocate.
I support Lt. Gov. Kinder for re-election.
Food for thought, if Rep Page was sincere in protecting doctors’ mission to care for the poor and sick in MO he would support Peter Kinder’s strong work in the past to keep the tort reform package he fought for. Ironically, if Page is elected with Nixon he will be in an administration heavily controlled by the trial lawyers, to the detriment of patients. Rep Page should disavow any support for Mr. Nixon, if he supports tort reform.
Disclosure: I support Lt. Gov. Kinder for re election.
Dr. Page has a well documented history of blocking any legislation that gives Missourians greater to access to healthcare services from nurses. Hypocrisy is one thing Missouri voters will not tolerate! Page is against greater access to healthcare services! Page is for greater access to your money!
Josh, are you talking about Rep. Page’s opposition as an anesthesiologist to a strong role by nurse anesthetists?
MoActive GOP, I am referring to Dr. Page’s global opposition to ALL non-MD healthcare providers. This guy has even opposed dental hygienists! I don’t care if you are a nurse, optometrist, psychologist, physical therapist, pharmacist, whatever. Page is strictly an agent for the monopolization of medical care in Missouri. His mission statement is simple: shape public policy to strategically control the flow of Missouri healthcare dollars.
Josh, Get off it!! If you don’t like Page that’s your perrogative and your position, just stop with the outright lies and your misleading information. Once again, Page would be making a whole lot more money practicing medicine. You don’t enter the political arena to make money. You do so because you care about making positive change.
