Palin helps drop the puck at an Oct. 11 NHL game in Philadelphia

St. Louis area activists in both parties are telling Political Fix that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will head this way after Friday morning’s rally in Springfield.

Rumor has it that The GOP vice presidential nominee — who prides herself as a “hockey mom” — will stop by Friday night’s Blues hockey game, and drop the puck. No word on any other possible public events locally, if the above report is correct.

The campaign of the GOP presidential nominee, Sen. John McCain, said details would be available Thursday.

UPDATE: The St. Louis Blues has confirmed Wednesday night that Palin will be at Friday’s game, and will perform the first-dropped-puck honors.

I hope that the Blues organization is smart enough not to mix sports with politics. People attend sporting events to entertain themselves and support their teams. Leave politics out of it!

I’m going to be there, and I will boo until my throat is sore - looks like I better take care of my vocal chords for the next couple of days. Lot’s of tea with honey…

The headline on the homepage says Savvis Center, good work. It’s only been the Scottrade Center for about 3 years now.

I hope the Blues do not allow this divisive figure near a hockey game.

I for one will not attend this game. I will just go out to dinner instead of the game. I am happy I did not purchase tickets yet.

I will sell my Blues Season tickets if the Blues organization is dumb enough to mix politics with my favorite hockey team.

Scott, they are playing the LA Kings Friday Night, Detroit is Tonight.

Brian, good call on the headline!

St Chuck Man, stay in the sweetest place ever friday night (sarcastic) becuase I’d rather have a Kings fan there then you.

Anyway, whats the big deal if she drop’s the puck? If that loser Obama dropped the puck, I wouldnt care, I wouldnt boo but wouldnt cheer either. She isnt making a speech, so some of you need to chill out. I’m a Hockey fan and I think it’s cool that she is all about Hockey. I think if Obama liked hockey, it would be cool too and would respect him more, even though I think he sucks.

Go Blues! and McCain/Palin!
