Palin prompts rush for tickets — all snagged in Springfield
Special to the Post-Dispatch
The word from Republicans is that it took only 90 minutes for the 4000 free tickets to be snatched up for Friday’s rally in Springfield featuring GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin.

How many people attended Joe (I’m a konstitushinal skolar) Biden’s rally yesterday? Oh, that’s right. His own campaign yanked him off the trail.
We’re talking Springfield, Missouri….
Ellie May Clampett sold out in 30 minutes.
Contrary to the anti-American opinion of East Coast Media Elites, Gov. Palin is overqualified for her job as Vice-President. As Governor, she was in charge of a state with a population of almost 700,000. When she’s “in charge of” the Senate, she’ll only have 100 to worry about.
4,000 free tickets
Presumably the rest cost $.
.
No Ticket Required (NTR) for the 100,000 at Obama’s rally under the arch and NTR for the 75,000 in KC.
.
o I don’t understand.
- Why tickets at all?
- Seems it would only suppress a crowd
.
Odd
Maybe tickets are needed because the venue is indoors? Ever think anything through before you say it? And all the tickets are free. The venue only holds around 4K. A little thinking goes a long way….
@GO_FISH
maybe they didn’t want him to open his mouth again and say what is on his mind. what he usually says is good for John McCain.
@Garrison
Its a big college town, you should know that since “your mom goes to college” LOL
i dont know if its good or bad because last i heard its a big obama area that Mccain has to do well in. I don’t know college town, you kids hear change and don’t know anything about politics and have no clue what he stands for, maybe thats why.
he mainstream press steadfastly refuses to delve into Barack Obama’s radicalism, his Leftist revolutionary collaboration with self-identified communists from Frank Marshall Davis to Bill Ayers. The McCain campaign, moreover, has contributed mightily to the whitewash by ineptly seizing on the issue’s least important aspect: Obama’s abject dishonesty about the depth of his relationships with committed Leftists — e.g., the portrayal of Ayers as just “a guy who lives in my neighborhood.”
(Petrified of being smeared as a racist, McCain has never mentioned Davis, whom Obama identifies only as “Frank” in his memoir. And, of course, utterance of Jeremiah Wright’s name is verboten in McCain circles, notwithstanding that his Trinity Church, where Obama was a 20-year member, is a font of Marxist Black Liberation Theology and thus critical to our understanding of Obama’s invocations of “change” and “spreading the wealth.”)
With what little media oxygen there has been sucked out by the largely uninformative discussion of Ayers (and his wife and Weather Underground ally, Bernadine Dohrn)— in which the mantra “unrepentant terrorist” has been a pale substitute for the critical matter of the Ayers’s ideology that Obama plainly shares — much has been missed. Significantly, that includes another key Obama contact, Mike Klonsky.
Here’s what you need to know. Klonsky is an unabashed communist whose current mission is to spread Marxist ideology in the American classroom. Obama funded him to the tune of nearly $2 million. Obama, moreover, gave Klonsky a broad platform to broadcast his ideas: a “social justice” blog on the official Obama campaign website.
I find it very frustrating when supporters of either party are unable to support their own arguments or positions with valid information or information with substance. Unfortunately this is happening quite often with McCain/Palin (”M/P”) “supporters”. It appears that the use of the M/P campaign’s fear tactics are completely misleading a number of people. For example, the campaign’s use of words such as “socialist” are used to create an association between a candidate and a negative idea. This is only effective when those who listen attach these labels to the candidate without performing their own due diligence or research to learn where these fear tactics are actually applicable. “Well, my friends,” in this case in particular, socialist is not applicable and if you had done your homework and studied each candidate in more depth this would be obvious. It should be completely obvious when people in M/P’s same party are defending Obama. For example, one of the most well respected Republicans has completely disagreed and disapproved many of the statements made by the M/P campaign; Colin Powell has announced that he is supporting Obama. In an interview, Palin even discounted the notion that Obama’s policies are socialistic, stating that she does not believe he is a socialist…and for the record, she stated that she does not believe he is a terrorist or that he has ties to terrorists.
In regards to a post by “S”: How is it valid to focus on the population of Alaska vs the Senate, when what’s important are the issues that she (Palin) will face along with the experience that she has with those particular issues (she has made it quite obvious and clear, even sometimes admitting that she is completely clueless on the most important issues; i.e. the economy, foreign affairs, etc.) I admit, she has been very successful in one area: she has been able to make an emotional connection with various people by throwing out terms or phrases such as hockey-mom, joe six-pack, etc. Unfortunately, she is unable to explain anything specifically that she would do for the hockey-moms or joe six-packs, etc. A great friend of mine teaches hundreds of university students bio-chemistry; but she (a new mother who is married to a “Joe Six-Pack”) would agree that she would not want someone like herself to hold a VP (and quite possibly the Presidential) position. It would be, to quote her; “Dangerous, irresponsible and quite scary.” The point should be obvious, as I’m sure you would not allow a friendly hockey-mom or joe six-pack the neighbor to operate on your child in an emergency.
My point is, please take the time to truly UNDERSTAND what each candidate has to offer and make educated decisions and statements. The United States of America is truly a great place that allows each individual to have an opinion and to have a free voice, unlike any other country in this world; however, I can respect those opinions and voices (regardless of whether or not I agree) if…and ONLY if those opinions and voices are supported by knowledge and actual facts.
Wonder if the GOP will stop off in Kansas City to buy her more expensive designer clothes before she makes an appearance in the “real” America?

.
Except that
o When Bill Clinton spoke at Kirkwood High Monday night there weren’t any tickets required either.
o That event was held inside also, so obviously there was a finite amount of seating available.
o But still - No Tickets Required.
.
Maybe it’s a Democrat v Republican thing, you know
- Open v Closed
- Transparent v Secret
- Everybody Welcome v Keep Out The Riffraff
.
o I agree, a little thinking can go a long way but if it’s just a shot from the hip based on a knee jerk reaction, aka, gut feel then the likelihood of that answer being correct can be significantly diminished.
o Most real thinkers look around for data, since data may give them clues that result in an educated guess rather than just a wild guess. An educated guess has a higher likelihood of being correct.
