Gov. Matt Blunt just took to the Capitol steps to fire up the crowd at the Jefferson City event where Gov. Sarah Palin will be speaking in about 45 minutes.

Here’s Blunt on Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama:

“Our opponent is a celebrity and he’s got a lot of devoted followers … and some of them aren’t even in the media.”

Blunt introduced Republican candidate for governor, Kenny Hulshof, who then called Palin a “rock star.”

There’s the race: Celebrity vs. Rock star.

Hulshof then introduced Jeff Parnell, a candidate for the 4th district in Congress.

I am about six blocks away from the Capitol. I do not feel the energy and I do not hear any of the motivational sounds of music or cheers out this way. I was going to walk toward it all just to see the turnout with my own eyes, but I have better things to do. A lot of the excitement and congestion must be on the bridge. Since that is the only way to get into Jefferson City from the North, especially people coming in from Columbia.

Gov. Blunt has done an excellent job supporting McCain in MO - as well as striking back against sketchy groups like ACORN and Obama’s “truth squads.” While Obama will most likely win on Tuesday, Blunt’s efforts on behalf of McCain and other GOP candidates may very well keep MO’s electoral votes in the GOP’s tally.

Will Sarah Palin be surprising everyone with her hard rock musical talents today? Is Huloff correct or, is he just really STUPID or something?
