St. Louis University political science professor Ken Warren says Sen. John McCain won Missouri while losing the nation because of the “racist vote in rural Missouri.”

Gov. Matt Blunt, who backed his fellow Republican, proved today that lame duck or not, he is still in charge of the press-release factory at the Capitol. Blunt issued a release this morning calling on Republicans and Democrats to condemn Warren’s remarks.

“Ken Warren’s claim that Missourians who supported Senator John McCain for President are racists is abhorrent and should be condemned by officials in both political parties.

“Ken Warren’s allegation that President-elect Obama lost Missouri because ‘the racist vote in rural Missouri cost him the state’ is not only detestable, it is absolutely incorrect. Both the liberal New York Times and conservative Wall Street Journal published articles today on how race was a relatively minor factor in electing our new president.

“Like many Missourians I supported John McCain for President, but now is the time to put the contest behind us. Americans should rally together to support the next President of the United States Barack Obama and not make inflammatory statements that are untrue, offensive and divisive.”

Warren, who made his comments in the St. Louis Beacon, said that the research backs his position. He said people tend to vote for candidates who look like them.

“I’m not condemning anyone for this kind of vote. Electoral behavior experts have known for decades that people vote for who they are comfortable with. Irish vote for Irish, Italians vote for Italians, Polish vote for Polish, Mormons vote for Mormons, women vote for women and so forth.

“It’s not like it’s unexpected that people who are outside the metropolitan areas, where there is almost no black population, are uncomfortable with people they are not familiar with.”

Just another liberal looking down his nose at those he considers inferior. Sounds like this loser Warren is the one uncomfortable with people he’s not familiar with.

Who are we kidding, Warren is right and Blunt’s fake outrage rings hollow. Warren’s not saying every McCain voter is racist, he’s saying that there are ENOUGH of them to make a difference in a very close count like we have in Missouri. We’re on the wrong side of history, and it’s time we face up to why that might be.

You can’t deny that there is a noticeable racist population in rural Missouri. To deny that there is ridiculous. A friend from northern St. Francois county yesterday morning reported at the local gas station people loosely talking about Obama in very racist terms…even hoping that they ‘get their stimulus check before he gets assasinated.’ Mr. Warren was spot on!!!

Pro-lifers in Missouri, in contrast to other states, have developed a strong system of leafletting churches just before an election. When Missouri Christian voters have last minute but full information on who is pro-life and who is not, anti-life canditates suffer.

Bill,
When I arrived at church on Sunday morning, there were in fact “pro-life” McCain-Palin leaflets on all of the cars in the parking lot. My friend and I took them all off and threw them in the trash.

How pathetic. He should be doing a study on age discrimination, and on sex discrimination as well, then. I’ve heard Palin openly referred to by many Democrats - black AND white - as a “dumb broad”. And then if MO got a nickel every time I have heard Mc Cain referred to as “grandpa”, “old geezer”, and “prune”, we wouldn’t need Obama to take other peoples’ money and send it to the racists in rural MO. Seriously - is this guy (Warren) actually teaching our future leaders? I think Obama won in 49 states because of the sexist young kids that Warren is indoctrinating. What a doofy statement - but I guess he’s one of the bandwagon people, who feels that he has to blame Obama’s MO loss on something other than political considerations. Like, maybe Obama is a socialist, and Jay Nixon is not - which is EXACTLY why I voted for John Mc Cain, and for Jay Nixon. All I can think of to say is that Warren looks like he’s getting up there in year,s so he really ought to be areful. The hand that he feeds people this garbage with is more than likely going to be bitten by the same people he is whipping into a feeding frenzy. Mandatory retirement age will come up so that the young people can take the old raisins’ jobs, since we will have more SOCIAL security benefits. And then who will Warren have to talk to and teach this garbage of pegging entire regions of the country as racists merely by voting trends to? How about a study on all of the sexists who picked Obam over Hillary, Warren? Is there some trend that you can point to there too? You’re on a roll… I used to be a fan of Charles Jaco on Channel 2, until I watched him in the middle of election coverage say that, “Wow!!! It appears that Missouri is even more redneck than North Carolina”. I mean, really? Was this election ONLY about race? I mean, really? People like Warren must really love their country to paint it as a bunch of racists. Or maybe he’s just talking about Jesusland? And if that’s what he is talking about, maybe he should not be teaching at a college that honors Jesus.

Maybe not racist, but just could not bring themselves to vote for a Black man or even a Democrat because of their bigoted views that Democrate equates Black. (lol).

THEY ARE EVEN WILLING TO CUT OFF THEIR NOSES TO SPITE THEIR FACES!

And Gov. Matt Blunt needs to be quiet with his BIGOTED,INSENSITIVE and IGNORANT MOUTH.

Can anyone recall Governor Matt Blunt’s infamous statement:

HERE IT IS:

“NOBOBY IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD LIVE IN ST. LOUIS CITY”!

What stupidty for a Governor to spew from his lips.

Let’s see: if you’re black and vote for a guy who is half black you’re not a racist. But, if you’re white and vote for a guy who’s white you are a racist. You liberals don’t make any sense.

I get pretty angry when I have political organizations walking up on my car in a parking lot - epecially at church - knowing that essentially, these organizations do not screen these people. The last thing I need is someone deciding that they don’t like a flyer I have in my car, or my bumper sticker, and while I am in church, they decide to key my, or another congregant’s - car. Or they go and put bumper stickers on cars, over other ones, or whatever. I don’t like the idea of people advertising on my car with their paper. It happens, and I can throw it away with or without looking at it. But I get to choose.

The only thing I like less than being allowed to make up my own mind is when people like Lisa decide that they are going to hide the information for me, because I am apparently not capable of making up my own mind. This is the type of censorship that will last much longer than the next four years. It will live as long as people like Lisa do. Once it is gone, then, and only then, will we be able to choose the medium in which we share -or refuse - ideas on our own.

camdawggy,

You sound as though you don’t know who the heck you are, or is it just that you are in denial of who you are?

Let’s try to all get behind Obama and support him as our new President.

Obama will truly be a good leader, give him a chance in that heart of yours, will you?
