Missouri officially a red state — but barely

This just in from the Associated Press:

Republican John McCain has defeated President-elect Barack Obama in Missouri _ the last state to be decided in the 2008 presidential election.
McCain’s narrow victory over Obama breaks a bellwether streak in which Missourians had picked the winning presidential candidate in every election since 1956.
With all jurisdictions reporting complete but unofficial results, McCain led Obama by 3,632 votes Wednesday out of more than 2.9 million cast _ a margin of 0.12 percentage points.

I am eternally amazed how these anonymous comment boards seem to bring out the inner spoilt brat in people. Y’all sound like a bunch of first graders!

All you obamaniacs, he hasn’t done a damn thing yet. Let’s wait a few years before you pass judgement on those who don’t share your opinions. Missouri may have gotten it right, time will tell.

Certainly not everyone who voted against Obama is a racist. That’s ludicrous. I see no problem with staunch Republicans and generally right-leaning moderates voting as they always have. We can agree to disagree on issues and have an open honest dialogue. The person I have a problem with is anyone who is a lifelong Democrat, who never voted Republican in their lives and has now voted for a Republican candidate for the first time ever after eight years of the most unpopular Republican administration in history during the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression saying that race had nothing to do with it.

Coat it with excuses of inexperience, or voting records or anything else you want, but at its core it is still racism.

Wally said:

“I voted against Obama…because he wanted to double the capital gains tax (even Clinton LOWERED the captial gains tax).”

Uhhh…Wally, what capital gains are there to tax? Is anybody yielding any capital gains other than perhaps bankruptcy lawyers?

The answer is no. Because our economy is in the toilet thanks in large part to George W. Bush.

At this point, does it really matter that Missouri is red? Enough states got it right, and that’s why Obama is our president-elect. With him being so close to turning this state blue, I still view that as being great progress. I’m sure he’s in no way disappointed in the outcome and the American people shouldn’t be disappointed either. Unfortunately, it will take some people time for it to settle in, and while they’re still trying to figure out how or why this happened, other Americans will have a joyous time celebrating our choice.

Oh the unbelievable, ever intensifying arrogance of St. Louis folks. I just cant imagine how hard it is for you to live every day knowing that you have to share the state with such uneducated, close-minded simpletons that make up the rest of the state. NEWSFLASH- missouri is not out of touch, rather you all are out of touch with missouri. Get off your high horses and quit talking about how outstate missouri is close minded with you cannot even accept that people may have legitimate, well founded believes based on issues important to them. The arrogance of stl in missouri is an embarassment to the entire state.

It appears that Missouri did not want to vote for a Clinton third term. Judging by his current appointments, the only “change” we’ll see is what is left in our pockets after the massive tax increases we’ll see.

It’s no surprise that the markets are way down…people are scared to death as to what Barack Clinton will do to companies.

Missouri got it right.

Oh, the arrogance for calling out racists for what they are.
