A mix of rain/show outside, and yet another Rams loss inside.
The only cure: Open Comment Time!

Once again, it’s Sunday afternoon. And that means here at Political Fix that it’s time for regulars and newcomers to vent on whatever or whoever has gotten their goat, or made their day.

Just remember our rules: Be civil, be concise and focus on regional or local matters or perspectives.

Stay warm, and start posting.

I thought we elected a Constitutional scholar as our next President? Lets read a part of that document he claims to know so well:

“No Senator or Representative shall, during the time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil office under the authority of the United States, which shall have been created, or the emoluments whereof shall have been increased during such time: and no person holding any office under the United States, shall be a member of either House during his continuance in office.”
(Article I, Section 6, clause 2)

So then how can he knowingly nominate someone for a position in direct opposition to the Constitution?

It would be too much to ask for some “journalist” at the Post Disgrace to look into this.

Para Bellum,

Until President-Elect Obama actually takes office, he is not appointing anybody to anything. (at least not anything under an official title)

Those that he has selected will not be appointed until they resign from their current position.

That said; I think you do have a point! During the time for which they were elected, the Constitution (as you, and now I, are interpreting it) would appear to ban them from holding appointed office (cabinet) -even if they resign from there current position -until the term of their current elected position has expired.

Si Vis — Unfortunately, your post will be considered to be off topic since this blog no longer is covering national issues. It was covering national issues when the PD was trying to get Obama elected, but now that this is done, you are not allowed to talk about these things here.

Regarding the Constitution, you and I both know that is it sadly a dead document. Our government is supposed to live it, but they all too often are ignorant of its contents. Heck, we can’t even rely on some of the most basic rules to be followed or enforced (BHO, natural born citizen?). What branch of the government is supposed to keep us in check in regards to the Constitution? The Supreme Court — an entity that spends more time making up laws than ruling based on what is allowable under the Constitution?

The PD still claims that this is the place for politics and does not say it has to be local - that is Jo and yes this is her site. There is nowhere else to comment on national politics on this blog. So I would like to know why the media has been so dishonest about reporting on Obama’s picks:
