Russ Carnahan likes Clinton as Sec. of State

As Sen. Hillary Clinton continues her won’t she-will she dance surrounding a cabinet post in the Barack Obama administration, St. Louis Congressman Russ Carnahan says he likes the move.
Speaking to Politico this week, Carnahan praised the former First Lady’s potential ascension to Secretary of State.
“This would really give her a very unique platform to really be a part of this historic time we’re living in right now, even greater than her role as a powerful senator,”Carnahan said. “She is a capable and strong candidate for that post.”
If indeed Clinton gets the nod — and word is that it will happen sometime after Thanksgiving — it has the potential to roil some of Obama’s liberal base, who, unlike Clinton, were against the U.S. invasion of Iraq from the begining.
However, coupled with luminaries such as former Senate majority leader Tom Daschle, who has accepted the job as Obama’s Health and Human Services secretary, Clinton could help make a cabinent not only of “rivals,” but also of political all-stars.
Does anyone other than a rock like Russ Carnahan, think that Hillary is qualified to be our chief diplomat?
