To celebrate 30 years of rail service in Missouri, the state Department of Transportation and Amtrak are sponsoring a “Name the Train” contest to pick a moniker for the passenger line that travels between Kansas City and St. Louis.

We’ve got a few off-track ideas that you can vote on below. To make an actual suggestion, check MoDot’s website.

Yep, a presidential election decided by around 3,000 votes, Democrat Governor, Secretary of State, Auditor, Treasurer, Attorney General (sort of), and one Democrat Senator. That sounds like a solid red state to me.

How about naming it the “Drain Train” for all the tax dollars that all Missourians pump into it to keep it running; or maybe, the “Little Used Caboose” for the number of passengers that don’t come close to paying for the service?

Probably the “ShowMe” Express, or how about the “Hemp Line Special”, or, between StL and KC it can be called the “Missouri Express”, and any line to Springfield can be called the “Missourah Express”.

Or, how about a line that starts in Springfield and ends abruptly somewhere in the middle of the state the “Blunt Line Short Haul RR”
