While the transitions of the new governor and president-election are getting all the ink, they’re not the only ones moving up.

State Rep. Clint Zweifel, the Florissant Democrat elected state treasurer earlier this month, has announced the formation of his own transition squad.

The group is led by Damon Shelby Porter, a former assistant Missouri attorney general who served as an aide to State House Speakers Jim Kreider and Steve Gaw.

Also on the team are:

  • Connie Burkhardt, former University of Missouri system curator
  • Tom Noonan, former vice chair of Commerce Bank in St. Louis
  • Ken Kuster, a former director in the state auditor’s office

Who cares? Does he really need a transition team? Dude, you have an office about the size of a State Senator, do you really need a team? What are they going to tell you, maybe how to do your job?

Clint’s attention to a thorough transition is another sign that he will be an excellent state treasurer. Thanks for your committment to public service, Clint!
