Blago in September: “I love the Cubs”

At 1:24 of this video, that’s Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich professing his love to Cub fans at a September 30 postseason rally — about six weeks before Blagojevich is accused of leveraging financial assistance for Wrigley Field to get an editorial writer critical of his administration laid off at the Chicago Tribune.
“I got to tell you,” the governor says. “I … love .. the .. Cubs.”
At the rally, Blagojeivch described himself as a ” lifelong cub fan who happens also to be governor of Illinois.” In other words: If Blagojevich is impeached, at least he’s used to disappointment.
What happens when you get a bunch of corrupt Cook County in a room?
