D.C. Download joins Political Fix

Lambrecht
Good morning Fixers. I am delighted to announce that the Post-Dispatch’s award-winning Washington bureau chief, Bill Lambrecht, is joining Political Fix.
Bill began his Post-Dispatch career 30 years ago this past September. He has covered presidents, Congress, the U.S. State Department, the attacks of Sept. 11 and the recent collapse of the economy. He has investigated China-made ATVs and the purchase of $1,900 cherry wood desks by government bureaucrats. His work has been lauded by his peers and followed by national networks.
Now, as Barack Obama prepares to take office, you can read Bill’s observations and insights right here, along with the rest of the best political news team in Missouri. His blog, D.C. Download, will now become part of Political Fix. Don’t worry - you can still read all the active posts in D.C. Download by going here.
I should also mention this: Bill hosts weekly online chats from Washington, where you can ask him about whatever is happening in political and government circles. He’s taking a break for the holidays, but join in the conversation starting in early January every Wednesday at STLtoday.com.
This is a real cause for celebration here at the Fix, because the region’s No. 1 political blog just got a lot stronger. And, readers can more easily find the top political news in one place: right here, where Jo Mannies, Tony Messenger, Jake Wagman, Virginia Young and a host of other journalists will continue to break news and share their insights.

Political editor of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
Christopher I hope this means you’ll put at least one of these gord-bellied cog pieces over in Illinois to uncover the real crimes against the taxpayers instead of staking all of them outside Matt Blunt’s office looking for e-mails and scrap paper.
This is a chance for you to show that this paper is something other than an organ for Jay Nixon and the Democrat party. I hope you don’t blow it.
Ask Terry Ganey how he likes working at the Columbia Tribune if you want a clue as to what you could be looking at.
Always good to hear more from Bill … somehow, though, I’d pictured him with more hair.
Graham, I wouldn’t look for the Post to become more “fair and balanced” any time soon. If they intended to do that, they’d have put ME in charge of Political Fix. My first job: modify the software so that it scrambles the words of any post by D. Walker, to make her sound disoriented and confused. Oh, wait, she already does.
This is a good idea, but I hope this also means much better DC coverage than we got in DC download which was abysmal.
But, I don’t feel very confident about Mr. L. You forgot to mention that he was sent to Africa with Mr. Obama in 2006 and he couldn’t even recall that Obama was from the Luo tribe, the same as the new co-head Odinga. I found that odd.
Improved coverage of what is going on in Congress would be a plus.
Awesome! Maybe now Political Fix will stop ignoring valid questions about Obama, like perhaps where his birth certificate is. Mannies, Wagman, Messenger and company are lazy Obama groupies.
