Haas

Perennial candidate Bill Haas is, true to form, jumping from one election to the next.

Haas notched a victory this summer in the Democratic primary for the Second Congressional District, though lost in the general election to Republican incumbent Todd Akin.

Today, Haas signed-up to put his name on the ballot for the city School Board, where he served from 1997-2005.

But the post has changed dramatically since Haas left the district. A state-backed panel took over operations of the struggling school system last year, sapping the elected board of much — if not all — of its power.

There are three seats open for the April 7 election. If nothing else, the move by Haas means he won’t be making a fifth attempt to become mayor.

What a total loser! I have never seen anyone with a more narcissistic personality in my life. Here’s a thought, how about geting a real job (greeter at wal mart doesnt count) and leave the rest of us alone!

I can think of nothing more appropriate than Bill Haas serving on a board which has no power.

Run Bill, Run!

on contraire, mon frere; as I’ve done once or twice before, one can run for mayor and schoolboard because mayor would be a primary; should one win the primary, then they’ve have to make a choice of which one to run for in the general. But you’re right in fact if not theory on this one; no plans to file for mayor; you know what they say - 5th one’s not necessarily any more of a charm than the others. 1st one was interesting, tho; $100,000+ will make it so; not interesting enough, alas.
My heart she is still broken, both from congressional loss and a year long relationship that doesnt seem to have worked out; but if god thinks I can do more for the communities I love on schoolboard than in congress, she knows best; just once, tho, it’d be nice if god and I had the same plan for me; good luck with that. And I have no idea what her plan is for me romantically, tho monk comes to mind. even that order that doesnt talk seems attractive from time to time, and that’s just to others, if you know what I mean.

Great photo! Was that taken by a SLPD photographer, or was it provided by Haas?

Insider, tho one shutters to think inside what, first, never a greeter at walmart, second, sorry 20 years corporate law and 10 years teaching dont qualify as real job, and finally, I’ll consider your advice, such as it is, when you learn to spell “getting”, or anything else. and walmart has a hyphen, tho I tend not to use it. Board may get power back, and if I’m on it, or not, the elected board will be better. Nothing against the appointed board, but 7 good minds better than none, uh, I mean three. a typo, I swear! really.

oracle, that’s cold; I thought we were tight; definitely not provided by me; see runbillrun.com for mine; obviously provided by someone who doesnt love me much; that ought to narrow it down; Post photographer, I’m sure; I smile alot, usually, dont I? do they ever publish a candid photo of a public figure smiling? that would seem to be a rhetorical question.

I have an idea! great even for me; I try to have one a day, great or often otherwise. the SAB, special administrative board, Rick Sullian, Melanie Adams, Richard Gaines, should file for schoolboard if they really have the interests of the public schools and children at heart. Now I believe that Rick doesnt live in the city so doesnt qualify; not sure about the others. The case to overturn the SAB is in the Supreme Court and a decision could come at any time. Three seats are open; I hope to have one of them; that leaves, uh, let me see, two, more or less. Richard Gaines would be good. I’d welcome Rick Sullivan; maybe he could get the legislature or dese to waive the residency requirement, as they did other of their rules as they had to to make us unaccredited, like Alice in Wonderland, execution first trial after. Melanie Adams would be good, too, I’m sure, but the problem is she works for Bob Archibald at the History Museum so would seem to lack even the appearance of independence. As you will remember, Bob Archibald was voted off the school board, or at least not reelected because he was like all the characters in the Wiz rolled into one - no mind, no heart, lion without courage not to mention several of the lesser witches. And to clear the air, I dont mean that comment in the bad sense or disrespectfully. Oh no, not me (I)! You remember, Bob is the one who served 3 years, I believe, was part and parcel of the district losing most of its 66 accreditation points, then when he failed to be reelected declared that elected boards dont work and pushed for the state takeover, thus retiring the trophy as the sorest loser in history. Now others may have an interest in the Board too, but if the SAB really cared, they should file in case the Supreme Court vaporizes them, they could still have a chance to play a role. If they dont, or wont, what does that tell you? Dont ask me, I’m just the 193 pound perrenial candidate in the room.
ps note to PD bloggers, with no name attached: canceled technically has only one “l” cause accent not on that syllable; that’s the rule; you can look it up, as Casey would say.

insider, in all seriousness, yes it is, and you ought to look at your library card and see what your name is and put it on your posts; tho we all understand why you dont; I’m sure your family will understand; they’re used you.
and the supreme court case just came down today; the day I filed; that’s cold; wonder if vote was unanimous. as the stooges? would say, what a revolting development; another fine mess you’ve got us into, ollie would say.
btw, miss Superintendent Diana, sort of, but new Supt Kelvin Adams seems good; we’ll hope and pray for him and wish him the best; let stlouis be the district others look to to see how it’s done in urban education; I applied for Secretary of Education; I understand I was Obama’s second choice; only fair as cabinet post was my second choice to working with our schools; was hoping for board in power; god must have another plan.
